You could see the talent from the get go.If he stays a one club player for his whole career I can see him joining the 300 club.Thank god Neeld wasn't around ,he would probably being playing in a B grade park comp drinking [censored] and enjoying the pie nights with cale ,jimmy at gysberts flat.

Only 23yo

averaged ~30 touches over the past 4 seasons. Adjusting last year for shortened games

remarkable.

Clarry has been very good from day one. Extremely resilient, having played through a heap of his 99 games with a bung shoulder. Definitely has it in him to go to another level, especially with a bit of tuition and guidance from Adem.

I had some doubts after his first year, that he may have been yet another supremely talented MFC recruit who didn't have the work ethic to reach his potential.  Struggled to run out games, in and out of the seniors, lacking defensive pressure, etc.

But that second year was a sight to behold!  Has been an incredibly consistent performer since then and has become a premier midfielder in the competition.

2 AA’s so obviously a very good player as is. Improve his kicking and add goals to his repertoire and he’ll be an all-time great. Looked in really good shape yesterday, primed and ready to go. A brownlow chance maybe??

I don’t know what to make of comments that he is uncoachable. Hopefully Ooze and Chocco can figure out what makes him tick. A genuine chance to leave, he does seem to have an independent air about him. Hopefully this team can finally gets its act together and deliver consistent finals appearances. If not I reckon he’s only 50/50 to re-sign.

For a bloke that had an interrupted pre season, it didn't appear to affect him yesterday as he was in our best 2 players. As others have mentioned his marking was top notch yesterday.

To take the next step, he needs to increase his average season of goal tally of 6 to be in the same conversation as Bontempelli, Danger, Fyfe, Martin etc...

When Gawn, Oliver, and Petracca are all firing on the one afternoon like they did yesterday, we're probably winning a game of footy against pretty much anyone.

Congrats Clarry you are a real champion. If there is a bloke that could break Neitz's record of games played it's him.

i really liked his game yesterday, thought it was very impressive. he ran with the ball at pace, kicked a goal, spun out of traffic, took a couple of good grabs out on the wing and took off quickly then hit his targets by foot. he seemed to be taking on more responsibility to move the ball to the outside with ball in hand, or by kicking, and then to link up in general play.

maybe Choco and Yze deserve some credit as well for teaching him a few tricks to add to his already dominant ball winning game to become more of a well rounded player, but however it happened, i say long may it continue.

A draft pick we got very right.  Clarry has turned out OK for a chubby pie eating red head from the Bush.

Thank god Sydney matched the Mills bid!

Want to give a fellow Dee an almighty scare?

Text them ‘Oliver Suspended’, just happened to me. A quick search and I discovered it was of the Damien variety for careless riding at Flemington today.....phew.

Loved the dash Clayton showed yesterday on occasions. Round 1 can’t come quick enough.

DD Great call

Clarry played his best IMPACT game IMO
since 2018. Didn't make a mistake or fumble or ditch out a Hot potatoe handpass. The three things I loved among a great day at the office yesterday from him were:

1. Marking strongly on outer wing About 3 gems that ensured the ballot kept going in our direction late in the game.

2. That centre gather sidestep and handpass to Trac then regather AND LONG kick wind assisted GOAL had not one bit of selfishness about it being pure TEAM play. Ooze and Clarry take a bow!

3. His RUN out of DEFENCE in 3 Rd quarter was Breathtakingly fast enough to give opposition a wake up call he was serious about moving this ball forward to score when he kicked it Yo a teammate.

This is the level he can go to just like Trac has done by valuing possessions.Gus needs to follow to fulfill his talent. Over to you Gus and Ooze.

I agree with everyone on here Clayton Oliver showed star quality from day one, he just keeps getting better with each game. I have followed the Dee's for 60 odd years and cannot remember a better first 100 games than Clarry. He has another level in him and as we add more quality around him he will show the footy world why we Dee supporters love him so much.!!!!!!!!!!!!

All of those accolades, plus he’s fighting it out with Strawbs Odwyer as the best looking ginger to ever pull on the Red and Blue.

There’s nothing he can’t do.

Frank Adams might not like that,he was a champ

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
