Is it worth throwing a 1 year contract to Lewis Jetta? 31 years of age, has speed and skill and could fill a part of our game that we need to address. Thoughts?

Didn't watch much of the Eagles this year. Demonlanders' who did, some questions:

  1. Why was he dropped / only played 6 games?
  2. Does he still possess skills and pace?

Yes for me. Slots onto the wing and he can mentor the likes of Oskar Baker or James Jordan to play the role in the near future.

definitely more suited to a HB spot pushing riv or salo up imo, i'd potentially give him a year if no other DFA's appeal to us, certainly good depth if nieta doesnt come back and we know nev is in decline, and KK is not an option. with a lack of depth in that area but i'd prefer hore got a chance but if hibbo does start to really slow down it could be handy, wouldn't expect him to play many games however. Egg-Smith has done his 3yrs on the rookie list at richmond so will have to be delisted and re-rookied or upgraded (to a bulging snr list) so if he became available he would be my preference. + i'm a big narkle fan too at the other end of the ground.

would definitely have the chat to him tho, may not move at 31 for 1 season with a young family and look to take on a mentorring or indigenous support role off field over there in the west maybe alongside jamie bennell instead

Yes - definite , from me.....similar to Isaac Smith whom left Hawks to go to Geelong...and also this may freshen the mindset of Neville and a fillip to nephew Pickett.

Perhaps about 10 or so years too late.

When recruiters came around to Neville Jetta’s place, Nev’s mother suggested it might be worthwhile getting in touch with her nephew Lewis but it never eventuated then ... it’s now a bit late.

Agree - had the opportunity to pick him up as a rookie after Nev Jetta’s mother begged Tod Viney.   But better a decade late than ever...a couple of years would be perfect.

Hit the nail on the head. particularly pace. if he still has it then he's a good option.

No.

Lost his pace and endurance so was relegated to deep in defence this year. His lack of endurance and speed has meant he’s struggled to get his hands on the ball, even in a strong team. His kicking skills are good, but definitely lost penetration the last year or two. He’s struggled with form and at his age it’s no wonder he’s been delisted. Family lives in WA so he won’t come across to Vic for a one year cheap contract. He’s not a really an onfield leader either. All adds up to a No.

He cut us to pieces in the season opener.

He joins the Adam Oxley school of players that destroyed us and then have been delisted a year or two later. ?‍♂️

Great idea. If he is fit and can perform the wing role, then yes.

Also love the idea of getting the brothers/cousins together. It'll help Kossi

I would like to think the club as a whole, staff players, coaches etc would be the ones that would help keep kozzi..

Why do we need to rely on brothers and cousins?

Drafting Lewis Jetta 2008 was the year

but our saviour Barry Prendergast had no farrrrrrken idea

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
