Well done and good luck next season.

Happy with a 1 year deal.

Another one ticked off the list, Still wonder what they're going to do with Jones

I hope he goes around one more year in that playing assistant role, maybe plays 5/8 games as depth

I thought he was very solid this year. His physicality in the back half is so important.

If my brother passed away suddenly I would just fall apart. Amazing he was able to perform the way he did with everything else on top of that.

Well done, Hibbo. A one year deal is a sensible move. I reckon he's got one more quality season left and then we'll have to reassess.

He had a nice bounce back to form this season after a terrible 2019.

Was a phenomenal effort considering his personal tragedy earlier in the year.  Well done Hibbo.

Pleased about this, a real Demon warrior!

I hope we can get 100 games out of Hibbo. Very courageous and gives his all every game. I wish we had a few more like him.

Hibberd can hold his own  I don't doubt his ability however one year deal is a good one and he can easily play a further year after that. Tough as nails

Michael's is one of those stories, isn't it.

Nice then.

One year deal makes sense.

I suppose we will have to trade for a replacement at the end of 2021 as I can't see anyone pushing for his spot.

Sensible contract for a player nearing teh end but think he has another good year in him.

He really did have a solid year and that's what you want from him, rarely beaten, attacking and urgent. great backman assets.

Absolutely P2J Hibbo nearly back to his best This season even his kicking.

Takes a strong person to do what he did and was consistently near our best 5 each game. Deserves to start in Round1 next year opposite Riv on the HB flanks.

Excellent. And a sensible time frame as well.

Given the tragedy surrounding his year and then having to go into the hub environment he did a remarkable job.

He also showed the value in dropping a senior player to a younger player (Rivers) a crack, Hibbo forced his way back in and looked so much more like his old self.

Love Hibbo. Love calling his name when he goes near it. Champ.

Well worth his spot for next year.

Would love to see him take young Rivers under his wing. Impart some of his considerable knowledge and footy IQ and ensure the kid doesn’t experience any second season syndrome.

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Night’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
