Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

bizarre decision from dunkley for mine

i do think it's hilarious that there's been so much gnashing and wailing about oliver walking out on us...but it is clearly not happening; meanwhile the dogs just one of their key players

Maybe not though - Josh  alerted the Bulldogs to some unprofessional behaviour in terms of preparation and commitment by other senior players who promised to deal with it, but haven't.  He's obviously had enough and Essendon have provided the lure with the opportunity to play with his younger brother.   Looking at the interview with his dad when we drafted Kyle they look like a family of straight shooters.

This is where we could get involved, assuming Essendon get pick 8 for Saad because the dogs won't want an early pick in this years draft. I'd ask about sending our 1st round (2021), pick 26 & 53 (2020) and Hannan to the Dogs and TMac to the bombers, the Dogs sending Dunkley to Ess while we get picks 8 and 14 this year. The Bombers don't have any 2nd round picks this year

Dees: Out 2021 1st, pick 26 & 53 (2020) Hannan & TMac In: pick 8 & 14 2020.

Dogs: out Dunkley, pick 14 In: 2021 1st (from Dees) & pick 26 & 53 (2020) & Hannan

Ess: out pick 8 In: Dunkley & TMac

Except Tommy is not worth a cracker...

You don't offer 3 year contracts to players you think are spuds. So the dogs obviously see what i see in him. 190cm small forward that can run and jump and has kicked a clutch goal in finals.

Seems like we had Mitch for about 4 years fir ONE BIG GLORIOUS goal that none of us will ever forget.

Good luck with the Dogs Mitch and thanks fir the memory.

Why TF would Dunkley want to go to the cheats?!  must be money or a falling out with the Dags

seriously, that's a pretty out of line comment.

staff have all moved on. It's not endemic to the walls of the club (even though the moved from windy hill to tullamarine).

don't tar current staff for previous staff's failings.

I will never let that organisation off the hook just because the staff were suspended/sacked. It was the most disgraceful lack of care for players in the history of the AFL. Testing random Unapproved drugs on their players having no idea what they might do.

This is endemic to the club due to its arrogance and expecting to win regardless of the consequences. Why does Daniher, Saad, Fantasia want to leave? Their culture is shot

They have been an Arrogant mob since I can remember which is now a fair while and nothing has change.

Ummm Pies with Treloar....

Both clubs and players are no longer respecting the idea of a contract and what it means. Clubs see it as insurance to make sure if the player wants to leave they have all the power, players are seeing it as cushions for job/salary security but then suddenly if there’s the chance to play in a premiership contending team they get “disgruntled”.

I have said elsewhere that this a problem of Collingwoods making. I hope they stay in the poo.

The second day of the trade period is an almost nothing day and, true to form, almost nothing happened.

The biggest news of the day was that the only deal done was the trade of Kyle Hartigan from the Adelaide Crowd to Hawthorn for a future fourth round pick. In draft terms, that’s about the lowest level of currency you can get.

That left the various commentators on AFL Trade Radio with plenty of time to discuss the futures of Jeremy Cameron, Josh Dunkley and Adam Treloar and some of lesser lights who are currently homeless, the sum total of such discussions amounting to almost nothing.

The bad news is that even less happens on the third day of the trade period than the second.

We get where you stand on TMac.

Actually it's not where I stand 'Bob'...it's where the competition sees him now.

Yep, I have been a critic since 2019. I reckon he lost all form (he didn't recover from the 2018 prelim) for whatever reason and we played him when he should have spent time at Casey.

They lost the opportunity in 2019 to send a message, see if he could regain form, confidence....rest him if he was injured...whatever.

Why I keep going over it now is that some seem to think he has trade value when he has next to none.

There isn't a queue of clubs wanting his services.

We accuse others of overrating their players but in this case some of the trade scenarios are ridiculous.

They (fans on this site) seem to think some magic trade will happen or that a club needs him...we have been crying out for another key forward and we went and got someone else...it shows us and the rest of the completion where we value him.

Why would we think another club, say GWS as was suggested would need him to replace Cameron...if he could then we should hold him because we need that player probably more than them.

We are probably at the head of the line for a club that needed him. We don't think he's got it to come back into form or we are not willing to risk it. We are in a similar position to Collingwood with Dawes, they knew he was done, they needed a KPF yet moved him on...he was gone.

I hope someone does take him on as it will relieve some salary cap stress but I don't know that there is anyone as dumb as we were when we took on Dawes.

If we have to hold him then I hope he can really turn it around next season and stick it up me and anyone else that doubted him.

It would be great to see....

Tommy has been a great servant and a credit to himself to carve out the career he has but his time may be up.

Hard to argue with too much of that. I’m hopeful though that someone picks him up as defensive depth but we’ll be paying a chunk of his salary, half or so I reckon. If he doesn’t move then its Casey next year and a negotiated pay-out in 2022.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
