Sounds like GWS and GCS are going to get raided, teams eyeing off players from both sides already, not sure who we'd want from those teams but i imagine both will lose a couple this off season

Caddy is god awful

I would hate him to have him on our list

Handy is a great role player and plays the wing very well.  Has been pushed out of a three time premiership team.  All I'm saying is his type who will be cheap and play a handy role.

lol, caddy or polec.. no thanks

Polec is a very good wingman.  Which is why he was played big money to leave Port.  In a good side he would thrive.  Caddy is also a good wingman and gets into good spots, always seams to be open and has the rich defensive game style in him.

These guys woukd slot into out side nicely, they aren't going to be superstars but that's not what we need atm,  im also just throwing these two up as examples of pretty good players you coukd get for next to nothing.

Have heard from a normally reliable source that Brayden Maynard is a certainty to be a Dee next year?

If I was a groupie I would ask you to p.m me with your inside info, but because he is just your average beast defender with a concrete jaw who can find a target 60m away and play on smalls AND talls, I wont ask you to do that.

What size is this fish? Could it be the elusive big fish we've been trying to land for years? We probably need a riddle here.

Solid mail Cerra will be a Tiger next year.

Seriously can that happen with Bolton wanting a new contract? Unless he’s part of the deal?

We don't need either Caddy or Polec. Brayshaw is doing a good enough job on the wing and we have the best wingman in the comp in Langdon. I don't want to see anymore rejects at the club. Go to the draft we have some academy kids and a father son to look forward to.

What on earth are we going to trade for Brayden Maynard?

The weid

I haven't seen many of these guys other than Lynch play well

We draft well and don't need list cloggers

We are becoming a destination club too

I'm happy for us to continue to build our culture, set even higher standards and keep money in the bank for the right player

I think Maynard is someone we should definitely bring into the club as well as Quinton Narkle. Burgess could get Narks body right and when fit he is a good in and out player.

My dream is Josh Kelly.

If we could somehow manage to fit and land him, we'd be the complete setup.

He is precisely what we're missing aside from perhaps another small dangerous mercurial high pressure forward.

@Grand New Flag, heard anything?

Would be willing to give up a decent player and hope any of our top players coming out of contract would accept pay cuts.

This is a good list to give people an idea of what is realistic this year, we've just re-contracted Gawn, Trac, Clarry and Salem on good coin, while the likes of Lever have redone their contract to allow those guys the coin to stay. While we'd be a very attractive destination now (game style, age demographic etc.) we simply don't have the cap space or the assets (no 1st round this year) to actually bring in big name, however it doesn't mean we can't look at free agents or specific depth pieces.

Burgess won't be here.

  • GAMEDAY: Geelong

It's Game Day, and reinforcements are finally arriving for the Demons—but will it be too little, too late? They're heading down the freeway to face a Cats side returning home to their fortress after two straight losses, desperate to reignite their own season. Can the Demons breathe new life into their campaign, or will it slip even further from their grasp?

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
