Green’s already got one so it Rivers’ to lose for this round.

So he has, I tried to look it up on the AFL website but seems to be missing a few rounds. The whole site is a dogs breakfast and difficult to navigate.

So impressed by this kid. A real Jason Taylor special. Well done, Melbourne.

He reminds me quite a bit of Zac Williams, which is ironic given some want us to go after Williams.

When I think of Trent, I think of him, on the field,

from a first person lens

looking down field at the tall white sticks

while a floater off the left from 35

and a never wavering off the right from just in 50

sail through

for the next decade.

Time and time

and time and time

again

And it brings a warm glow to my soul

This bought tears to my eyes, but that might be because you're an onion.

Claimed him as my boy from from the moment we drafted him.

Have been saying that while all the draft hype was on Jackson and Pickett, this is is as good if not better then both.

Absolute steal who i rated in the top 20.

I was sold on him the minute he was touted as a good kick running out of defence. Very classy player - seems well and truly at home at this level.

Tom Green had an excellent game last night but as he has been nominated already there is an excellent chance Rivers will get the nod this week.

Not just for his overall game but the composure and quick thinking he showed to kick the critical goal that gave us a lead we could defend to win the game.

Can't remember us recruiting a kid defender who looks as poised as Riv in his first year. His maturity is beyond his years and has not looked out if place since his first game.

Has already become one of those players who make you relax when he has the footy.

we have precious few of those presently HB

I think his future may be on a wing which would be excellent. He has good speed but he’s also quite strong. He brings different qualities to Langdon. Whenever he was running into the middle yesterday he made things happen.
He’s a gem.

Yup, hes too good to be sitting in a back pocket minding  a player.  Will be a very attacking half back or a winger.

Wow ! Poetry on Demonland

Outstanding !!

How about this

'Last night I held a little hand

It made my sad heart sing

The loveliest hand I've ever held

Four aces and a king'

Didn't we recruit another young kid called Rivers who won the rising star award in his first season??

Great talent. Kicked 2 crucial goals and showed more composure doing so than most of our senior players!

Seen enough from Rivers, Jackson and Pickett to think we have 3 serious players  add in Langdon we have had a pretty good draft trade period in 2019

Makes me even more confident that Jason Taylor and his crew will find another gem in our first pick.

He not only looks like he belongs but it's apparent to me that he thinks he belongs. A huge level of confidence for a kid and invaluable in his development. Never seems to drop his head.

He has all the tools to become a great. There aren't many flaws. He is a player many clubs will kick themselves not taking. Great kick, above average balance, willingness to take the game on, good athlete, well coordinated, performs under pressure, makes the right decisions. I could go on. Kid is special.

Forget the nomination, he’ll be odds on to win the thing next year!

A little early to be on the sauce EO

A very composed game from the youngster who is quietly having an excellent debut season. Is he in the mix for a Rising Star nomination?

Give him the nod, he was superb (has been all season) and to kick two goals off half back including the match winner.

If only Rusty! 5 weeks without a drink, on the back of covid restrictions, whilst supporting Melbourne.... thought I'd punish myself!

In all seriousness, it's one of the best decisions I've made in a long time, and I'm a somewhat healthy 40 something year old.

Sorry folks, all of a sudden, Sholl from the Crows might be more likely to be nominated this week. 24 touches and 2 goals against the Blues.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
