POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Adelaide

Probably the most frustrating and aggravating 50 point win I've ever watched. Adelaide are a truly horrible football team right now, they just cannot kick a score. Main Dees takeaways for me:

-Steven May another fantastic game. Made Tex look like a local reserves player.

-Clayton Oliver escaping the packs and thinking a little more with the ball was fantastic.

-Brayshaw should only ever play on ball. This makes it hard to balance the midfield but that's what the coaches are paid the big bucks for.

-Jackson was clearly worrying ROB with his jumping ability. Good positioning up forward too.

-Neither Bennell or ANB impacted up forward. Small forward positions are still well up for grabs.

Here is how bad Tex is right now - I'd rather Tommy Mac than him.

He is a squib of the highest order.

Anyone notice the way Jackson does those cute over the shoulder handballs into space? Whens the last time you've seen a ruckman look so fluid and mobile the way he does.

No wonder why we rated him so highly. He's an extra midfielder everytime we play him in the ruck. Will be elite, watch this space.

Three quarters of puss and a last quarter of sexy time.

Certainly wasn’t a great team effort but some great individual games. Oliver incredible. Viney all heart. May was solid all game and just as importantly gives us grunt.

Brayshaw finally showing a few signs that he can get back something resembling form.

Jackson yet again played a smart game down forward. Those having a crack at him aren’t paying attention. Competing strongly in the air and playing a selfless game for the other forwards.

The skills are still a huge issue, but by the end of the game it was a 50 point win. It took a massive detour but it was job done.

tells us nothing really but we were good in patches. we are better than we were last week, but not as good as the scoreline suggests tonight. Wins over Roos and Pies and I'll eat humble pie. Until then all we did tonight was bully a poor team.

Tomlinson back was fantastic. Clearly he hadn't played there much but hes a big body and can kick. His run was great as well. I'd love to see Goody persevere with him there. So much better than Oscar. And could play on tall or smalls

Hey Jaded, you asked about Clarry's hair.

The problem with that is that Salem gave Clarry his haircut.

Salem should stick to his day job. A hairdresser he ain't !!!!

Disagree. His foot skills are a liability

Gawn just said on fox he has an injured shoulder near the top of his left shoulder but can play through it.

Would rest him to be safe.

No way. Goldstein will tear us apart on a game we have to win

Should have rested him for this game.

Now he's playing injured on a 4 day break against Goldstein in a harder to win game.

This was one of those captain's calls that can backfire.

A strong finish made it a convincing win.

Some of the worst umpiring I have ever seen.

A real coming of age game from Jackson and a gutsy effort from a clearly unfit Max. Let's take the 4 points and see where can go from here.

PS the fox commentary was equally as bad as the umpiring

PPS Clayton Oliver FMD !!!!

The umps clearly got on the Crows at $3 just like I did. That umpiring was worse than anything I've seen in WA over the years, land of the home cooked umpiring.

I reckon Weid is coming on really well. Pretty unconvincing win for me even for 50 pts - it was really just the last quarter the first 3 quarters were pretty rubbish except for Viney and Oliver.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
