Correct P man - it is compulsory!

I have The top off 2 Shiraz quaffers . I am letting them take a deep breath before the ritual slaughter commences.
These night games can be a real trap however and pacing  oneself is essential In order to make a decent last quarter effort

One must also retain some energy for the “apres ski” so to speak

I don’t agree with this “let it breathe “ rubbish. Knock the top off and give it mouth to mouth.

Quaffers!

Hardly befitting refreshments at The Manor, being as it is near the heartland of some fabulous Shiraz country?.

True Luci , there’s some excellent brews from Heathcote and central Vic

However, I must be unpatriotic and say my heart is in the Barossa.  Besides the best Heathcote Shiraz is too expensive to slurp

Westhoff, no matter what the recent form, always does well against us and I think that this is because we do not have a mobile tall on him guarding his behaviours. He is a mobile tall, largely unchecked and can take a grab in a flurry 'to get in there'. His ability to 'float' into the play is effective - and deceptive. My choice of tempering Westhoff would be TMac. OMac won't keep up with him and May might not, either. The upside of all of this is that Westhoff is nearing a sunset period in terms of football and I'd suspect that his resilience and recovery are not as acute as these had been in the past. Lever, OMac, May can deal with the rest of the timber beanpoles at Port, surely? Even Rivers might do well against him, physically and in the hard yards. I'd suspect that Lever and May will have bigger fish to fry from the Port team, anyway.

Westhoff was playing in defence last week I think

I know Westhoff usually gets us but he is done.

almost 34, he was dropped then brought in for 10 touches, 5 of which were clangers. he also gave away 3 free kicks.

I am aware I am currently jinxing us right now but screw it.

The Hoff is Finished!!

Great points mate.

Our fitness has been a highlight so far.  While we still have issues in converting our forward 50 chances, we are running out games really well.  Sunday is evidence of that.  It would have been easy to fall in a hole but we kept pushing and pushing right to the end.  The boys are fit and you can see that each and every week.

Thats it mate. Like i say, basics are there and a bit of tweaking to come. Its all in front of us now i think.

Big day for us, this is line in the sand stuff. We lose and the season isn't completely shot but the fat lady will be warming up her vocal chords.

It's interesting that despite not playing that great we actually almost still won last week against one of the top teams (I still struggle to see Brisbane as a top team), our defense really held their own when challenged and we had so many golden chances to kick goals that we squandered.

With the forward set up of three talls I'm going to be interested to see how we play TMac and Weid, my thoughts are that they will try to rotate them between CHF and FF in intervals. With respect to Jackson who looked like a baby giraffe against Carlton but is looking more and more like an AFL footballer with each minute, I think we should try to keep him away from both Sam and Tom, my biggest concern with the 3 talls set up is that they may get in each others way so there needs to be clear information to all three of them what their areas are and what their roles are at the particular times.

We also need Fritta, Hannan, and Kozzie (and the mids around the contest as well) to be hot on their heals and ready for the crumbs, this was something I thought Brisbane did a lot better than us last week.

Finally, we simply MUST take advantage for having the dominant ruckman.

Weid needs to be directly in front, no more than 30 mtrs out if this year is any indication.

Needs to seriously work on his set shots if he wants to make it in this league.

Scoreboard pressure early, get the yips out of the way and kicking it through the big sticks. Weids could've been the hero last night had he nailed two of his three fairly standard shots.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
