It’s on a knives edge. The reason that Vic and NSW and now QLD are in covid outbreaks is because of individuals not following the right processes.

The seriousness of the situation means these breaches must incur $$$ but also more serious club penalties like points.  Clubs don’t worry about $5,000 or $10,000.  They worry about loss of 2 points or 4 points. That would make the discussion more serious.

Additionally, the beauty salon attendee should have her hair shaved off, the SeaWorld grandparents should be thrown in the killer whale enclosure and the wives of the north players should be forced to keep attending their partners matches for the rest of the year.

There was reference in the Guardian to this issue today.

Apparently Gil has read the riot act to the WAGS.

Something also about wanting to bring a puppy from Melbourne.

Sooner this season ends the better for everyone

PS Fining a club for the actions of a player's partner.... wow that's challenging on so many levels

I agree it is..... But..... they have agreed to go into the Hub and abide by the rules.

If they didn't want to hey could have stayed at home.

Has the potential to divide clubs as players naturally defend partners and family.

AFL WILL HAVE ‘NO ALTERNATIVE’ BUT TO GIVE GF TO QUEENSLAND.

The figurative odds of Queensland hosting the 2020 AFL Grand Final have seemingly shortened, with the league reportedly putting in “logistical plans” to host this year’s showpiece game in the northern state.

With the MCG increasingly unlikely to be able to host this year’s game due to a coronavirus spike in Melbourne, 7 News Perth’s Ryan Daniels reported the AFL had made accommodation and venue bookings until the end of October.

Daniels reported on 7 News Perth that Western Australia had “not been included in any such plans” around accommodation and bookings, suggesting: “Optus Stadium now appears certain to miss out hosting Australian sport’s marquee event.”

Also in that article:  — North Melbourne’s alleged breach concerns a group of partners that attended a football game.

Questions that must be asked:  How did they get from Hub to venue?  Who let them into the venue?  The relevant players must have known; they should be be suspended.

Couldn't stand the TV crossing to Auntie Anna etc

FWIW my vote is for the Alice with an exclusively indigenous crowd. In this difficult year it might just send the right message.

I read that as the grandparents were outside the hub (may live locally - who knows), and babysat the kids at seaworld - the issue is with the kids mingling with the public outside then returning to the hub.

On the contrary. The important point is that the player asked for permission rather than just tried to bring it in without permission. Nothing wrong with that. If only someone had thought to ask for permission for their children to visit a theme park with their grandparents.

Bizarre as it might be to see it could end up being the most incredible end to weird season, if it's the only chance for crowds then I'd 100% go for it.

Why are WA and SA being rules out for GF host duties? I know WA in particular haven't really come to the party to help but a GF at Adelaide oval would be something to see.

Airlie Beach has an AFL oval.

Send it up here. I promise to stay home until the Grand Final.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
