the worse take was the velvet sledgehammer's take on the dees in 2020 - he's a moron; seriously one of the worst commentators i've heard, just repeats generic info off the back of last season's stats

he might've been a beautiful kick for goal as a player but geez he's a twit

I think it looks good - one of the few people who can pull that look off.

If anything, the long beard and shaved head was probably more showy than this.

Max has already proven himself to be a champion player and strong leader.  Nothing in these pictures is out of character or would lower the high esteem that he is held in.

Person unable to work and locked in isolation for 10 weeks due to global health pandemic gives themselves an outgoing haircut. Massive club culture issue that.

Get a grip Hutchy you stale peanut.

Nothing wrong with a player / leader showing a bit of 'individuality', unless they let it get in the way of performance,  and every follower of the AFL (except Hutchy!) knows that that won't happen with Max.

Must be a slow news day.

Hutchy is just envious. Not about Max's hair, but his height. If Hutchy had Max's height he would then be the perfect weight.

Additional comment: I should disclose I have similar hair to Hutchy and am not the perfect weight for my height, either.

Max Gawn has the respect of his peers at the club and that is why he is our captain. He leads by example by giving his all.

Hutchy will regret the words he used about us struggling and I assume that will stir the boys a bit as well.

Thanks for your kind words Hutchy.

This is the Media or style of media he has created. Hutchy is the biggest purveyor of outrage media. He pulls the pin, lets others throw the granade. Its just the bottom of the barrell styuff that would make really good honest, ethical journos turn in their grave, even if they are not dead!

The AFL media is at one of its lowest points right now.

A conservative club,  needs outgoing leadership.

Spot on.

Max's hair do is a necessity right now,  to brighten the place up,  and to get attention for the club.

Max did say it will be gawn,  for the start of games.

Like most I think Hutchy is an attention seeker & some of his dialogue is cringe worthy, but I do agree with him on this.

Unfortunately we are under the pump big time to perform so the focus from our leaders might be better directed at the footy & winning games rather that how we look.

I'm not sure that a captain in his first year who goes out & gets a mohawk is sending the right message to the other players, coaches, supporters & sponsors etc. That's only me though.....

Dustin Martin’s stupid haircut didn’t stop him winning his club a flag.

They must be running out of stories.

When did Hutchison last have a Hair Cut

One of the many cheap media types “running” the game now who make money via the lowest common demoninator (Croc Media) and just dig up rubbish for the sake of their own wallets.

A True Bottom Feeder

And this is news ?????

My gut response is good on Gawn for not 'acting like a club in 17th place'.

But also, storm in a peanut.

The old 'just asking questions' mantra... The lazy propagandist's way of denigrating a decision or policy without actually having to provide actual arguments.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
