Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I'm not thrilled about this like many other posters. I think he is good one on one, takes a good mark. Granted, he has massive brains fades and at times makes poor decisions. The two when weighed against each other make him an average player - but he's an average player I would rather keep. I think the club is banking on May being fit all year (when was the last time this happened), Lever regaining pre ACL form and Marty Hore filling a gap too. Lots of what ifs there and I think that is the main reason why a lot of posters are anxious about letting a know quantity - despite his limitations - go. Particularly if the outcome leads to O McDonald getting games.

Hawks have pick 30ish. It will probably be that.

Close enough to his value. Would like it to be 5 picks earlier, but not going to happen.

Yeah I'd have him at ~20-25. I'm thinking 30 and 47, for Frost and 58 might get it done.

Gunston would be a player we could look at in a trade.

I'd consider that.  He's 28 yeah? Seems a reasonable deal for both parties.

The tour that Hawthorn claimed didn't happen must have been a raging success.

I see people talking about "touring facilities" all the time.

The current Hawks wouldnt bother with that. They just email a pic of the trophy cabinet and a copy of a contract.

Hawks will offer a fourth rounder for Frost.

They got Scully for a fourth rounder (albeit with an injury cloud) , no way they’d offer anything more for Frost.

Reckon you're right ... Frost being uncontracted gives us very little leverage.  None really.

Talk of Frost having to go to the draft again is not going to happen either.

We might be able to eke out a 3rd rounder but I'm not holding my breath.

In my 30 years supporting this club we appear to struggle more than any other club in retaining players we actually *need*. We fill areas that have holes but then lose assets in other areas. I know that the balancing act isn't easy but we are losing too much depth, too often.

It will be a late 2nd rounder.

Everyone is forgetting that we have Petty coming through also. Yes he was experimented with forward at different stages but he'll end up a rock solid KPD. The best asset Frost has is his speed, and tbh you'd prefer to leave that stuff to your small backs then the big hulks

He'll get to Hawthorn anyway if he falls into the draft.

Petty will be a key forward.

I think Petty is a good forward prospect,

The panic and naivety around Frost leaving is hilarious.

Definitely pushed and should be a depth player.

Our defensive system will be a lot more solid now. Every defender can trust their team mate will be where he should be.

Frostball means chaos in the back half and the only part of the ground where chaos works is the forwardline.

Hawthorn's defensive system now has a part that can be exploited by the opposition.

That's only your opinion that we need him, it's clearly not the FD's collaborative opinion.

I'll buy you a slab of beer, or whatever your poison is, if there are more than half the games next year, where some of us shaking our fists at the skies wishing we had Frosty.

No point overpaying a limited player, we'll do that enough with free agents, if we can get something for Frost instead of signing him up to an expensive deal then dropping him to the VFL then I can live with that.

If Hawthorn are willing to pay him more than we are then you'd think there's at least a 3rd round pick coming back. 2nd rounder is optimistic but we can hope.

Lot of people here seem to think that the club has faith in O-Mac to fill Frost's void.

I reckon Petty is the guy they rate who will fill that void R1 2020. Know the club rates him highly and was drafted as a KPD despite his success up forward in the back half of the year

Agree to disagree. Was thrown forward out of necessity, played his entire career before that as a KPD. He performed well up there but can't see it being permanent. Time will tell

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
