And I second that. Amazing. God he has a go. Given he's got what appears to be a rather fragile, giraffe-like build, he just throws himself into everything. Should be an inspiration to the rest of the slackers.

So hoping he gets all-Oz again.

Ditto. (And Max was extremely unlucky to lose out to Treloar for the trophy.)

6.  Big M  - difficult to watch this bloke trying to lift us in a match so often and not many able to go with him.  Hats off to the bearded wonder!

5.  Clarry -  Too many handballs that result in wasted possession and needs to learn how to kick to a target.   But without his ability to get to so many contests and hold up play until the calvary arrives we would get slaughtered!

4.  Harmes - as above but great work rate around the stoppages providing 2nd and 3rd efforts.  Unfortunately too many turnovers killed off some of the good work.

3.  Tracc - fabulous first half playing IN THE MIDDLE.  Finally looked dynamic, powerful and "On" with the ability to break tackles and run off into space, assess then kick to advantage.  His turn of speed then torp to Jeffy out of the middle for the joe the goose shows he has got it.  The Goody game style doesn't help him stay fresh however and faded in the second half.

2.  Gus - cleaned things up a little in the second half and finally looked a little like old self.

1.  Fritsch - ugly decision making at times but never threw the towel in and got plenty of the ball in the open (which i can't say many others managed to do well aside from Salem, Harmes & Gus....the Pies killed us in the uncontested gets then toyed with us afterwards).

Our kicking for goal was soul sapping.

6 Gawn - fired up after Robbo went for Grundy as AA pick ahead of him. Both are certs. But Max has shown why he's starting 18 with Grundy on bench.

5 Harmes - had a great battle with Treloar for much of game and his run was super damaging.

4 Brayshaw - how composed was he all game. Reminiscent of 2018 at last.

3 Fritsch - finally played like his pre-season form suggested.

2 May - how good was it in the first half having a defender who wins in the air. Now we know why we got him.

1 Petracca - Our only real link between middle and forward and again worked his butt off only to be let down by the odd bad choice of disposal.

Olly was prolific and was almost brilliant, but still fell back on handball instead of taking the game on himself and kicking to a lead. Gave away a couple of stupid frees as well.

for all the disposals they got, i really didn't think oliver, brayshaw, salem, or harmes were that useful with them...yet they were almost certainly all in our top eight or so players on the ground

So many useless possessions in this game,  headed by Oliver and Brayshaw.  A great reminder to ignore people who bring up 'supercoach' stats.

Negative votes to Jones, T Mac, Garlett, Hunt , Viney and Hibberd.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
