What the actual [censored]!??

How about focusing on getting their skills right on an oval instead of drowning each other in a pool!

How bizarre can a training session be, reaching dangerously - whether 'supervised' or not - into the training regimens of footballers for the elusive 'fixes' administered by cranks? It is as bad as drug performance enhancement and for the uninitiated, irresponsible. Whatever was wrong with the aerobic and anaerobic methods tried and tested for the past forty years to raise O2  capacity and lactic acid tolerances?

'Oh,' said the FD, 'let's do something different with this pariah of methodology as it sounds groundbreaking. We are only playing with their wellbeing.'

Not sure of the science behind this, but my uneducated opinion is that exercises like this and military style stuff for professional athletes are absolute rubbish.

Sounds like he may have had latent hypoxia. Being an ex-navy diver, I can tell you there’s no benefit to this sort of exercise for professional sports players. It was used more so to put trainees under stress.

This season is a tragic chain of diabolical events.

How about we learn to play a decent game plan and spend less time walking with balls underwater.

Seriously wtf!

It's like the entire club is trying to force a square plug into a round hole. Don't worry about just going from A to B, when we can visit X Y & Z along the way.

These guys do know that we're meant to be playing footy right?

Now that i think about it thought it makes sense, given that Goody's game plan is sinking (or is that sunk?).

Being a lifelong asthmatic I can fully understand the idea behind it. Swimming was the only thing that developed my lung capacity to a point where I was able to ease off on medications.

Having said that, surely there are other, safer, ways of doing it??? Also, if this was a preseason training drill, why are we still doing it? It's game time, let's get some skills training happening and retain fitness levels, rather than pushing to improve. No wonder players look tired on game day and can't dispose properly.

Yeah, but think of the upside. When global warming really kicks in and footy is played underwater, we will be top 4 material again!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
