Jesters pies. That is all. Perth is an isolated shithole. I fly in at 7 am and leave at 7pm. Enough for me

I have a bit of a soft spot for Perth given I’ve lived here for roughly 20 years of my life and this type of comment riles me to be fair.

Half of you muppets probably caravaned here with Mum and Dad when you were full of pimples, barely feathering and spending way too long in the shower to ever take in anything of real interest.

But hey, you recognise franchised meat pies as key criteria in your assessment of a city’s worth.

You [censored].

The revolution is coming soon. If it's anything like the Spanish civil war I can't wait to join the fascists.

They caught me on the hop having just left my local vegan cafe where I supped a delightful deconstructed turmeric latte. Photographer said something about cruelty to cameras.

Fashion revolutions are good Biffen, as long as it's on-trend. I can imagine you in a fascist uniform looking for someone to punish. Bit like that guy filmed in the Richmond beanie on Wellington Pde a couple of weeks back.

What the f*** is this [censored]? That style went out on Tuesday. We (every Melburnian) has already moved on from that dated sh*t.

We've moved on to an eclectic mix of Versace, Dimmey's, bin liners and Stravinsky.  (Although we are still all web developers, and always extraordinary.)

We visit Perth generally once a year to see in laws. A few things I notice are;

Its fantastic when its sunny but one of the most dreary places on Earth when it’s gets a period of bad weather. Beaches and parks are awesome.

Not  a shoppers paradise. A city of no bargains and boring generic shopping.

They are too dependant on mining. Even the bathwater is rusty.

They love their fish and chips as much as the seagulls do.

Little Creatures is fake craft beer but great wine.

Northbridge after 10 pm is scary.

One thing Perth has is the best Sunday sessions in Australia.  Must admit nothing better on Perth then heading down to Fremantle or Cottesloe on a Sunny spring afternoon finding a good beer garden and enjoying a couple of middy's in the sun.

Perth is beautiful.

It is like 95% of the people there who are the problem.

In all seriousness, Perth is a pretty cool place. I worked out of the Swanbourne barracks in my army days for 3 years. Wonderful beaches (no surf tho) and good pubs (OBH and cott hotel are must-go's if your in town, beers while watching the sunset on the water is incredible). The city itself is underwhelming compared to Melbourne, although young whipper snappers would enjoy the nightlife in Northbridge. Wouldn't ever consider moving back but did enjoy my time there.

Great place to live and bring up a family not the best place to visit without knowing a local who knows all the haunts. And a shocking sense of having a chip on their shoulders about their sporting teams but otherwise

Great weather

Great local sporting facilities

Best beaches in the world and

As others have said Great Sunday sessions

A friend of mine lived in Perth. His phone number was 7.

Who owns the pub there now?

Is it true there is no bank in Perth? Because every time someone gets some money they leave?

There's no town idiot in Perth. Apparently everyone gets to take turns..

I;ll leave now....

Surely Ethan is the Town Idiot?

I've always thought a good car-jacking and an exciting home invasion helps keep a city interesting.

    TRAINING: Friday 28th February 2025

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. One of their last drills were three teams competing in a hard at it, handball game in a small area. Goody

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
