Eddie’s pants will be bulging.

Pretty sure I saw a homeless man trying to get inside the tent he was pitching.

And big Cox!

Hate to say it but Pies are a lot better than anyone wants to admit. Scarily they couldn’t beat West Coast in Perth. I’m worried. I’m very worried.

Injecting room could get busy.

Dees v Pies GF

first time both teams missed finals the 4 previous years?

I still remember Bruce's favourite moment from the 1988 Olympics.... "would have to be Carl Lewis in those tight bike shorts"

not anything to do with the amazing athletic feats just the fact he loved seeing Carls tackle wobbling around....

Or you could look at it like... We can beat WCE in Perth and Pies can't!

Can you even imagine?    Would be the greatest grand final week of all time.

Take away Richmond’s pressure and this is what you’re left with. The same top heavy side they’ve always been.

To date they've won two games all season against the sides who made the finals.

Everyone was right to question whether they were any good given that until last week, Queen's Birthday was their only win over anyone good (and we were tripe that day).

In saying that, they've weathered Richmond's attempted fightback this quarter and extended their lead. Game looks over and they'd fancy themselves against either West Coast or us.

They’re playing out of their skin tonight- if they’d brought this to west coast two weeks ago they would have flogged them.

Like us the pies have improved their gameplay over the season, like us they are peaking at the right time.  Almost a parallel development.

We can't match and surpass them.

I reckon they are going to revisit the double bye (end of r23 and winner of qual final), it does seem to be an advantage playing every week of finals in recent history.

It's a few things.

Riewoldt aside, their A-graders are having no influence (Martin, Cotchin, Rance, Edwards are all struggling or getting beaten). In 2017-2018 they've hardly had games where those players have been poor, and we know none of them get injured, so it's no coincidence IMO that when they struggle, the B-graders fall away (e.g. Caddy and Rioli have been woeful tonight).

They're too short, and Collingwood are tactically using their height to their advantage.

Collingwood's pressure is also through the roof, and any side under this pressure is going to struggle.

They’ve beaten the best team, they are the heavyweight champ. Hopefully they hold that title for a week only.

De Goey off the rooms. Howe grabbing a hammy. Excellent news for us potentially.

Is it just me or has Richmond looked really selfish in their front half tonight?

Which knee jerker made that call ..... Vlad or Dill?

I agree it is a stupid idea.    Loses momentum not only for the teams but also for the supporters, especially the “neutral”ones.

DeeeeGooey, and now Howe looking injured.

Mmmmmm

Only top 8 side they beat all season was us, and that was before we clicked. They went over West with a plan and fell short, they were bloody ordinary last week. Tonight they have simply beaten Richmond at their own game. Manic pressure, move it fwd at all costs, next thing the ball bounces your way and you’re looking like millionaire’s. I still think whoever wins tomorrow wins the lot.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
