Not sure why you would want Bugg ahead of Brayshaw, for the record Bugg has the worst behind to goal ratio at the club- suer he gets it....sometimes, but when he does he cant convert. Brayshaw must be injured still.

Hope Brayshaw gets to play in the Casey game and is not an emergency

Brayshaw is not listed as an emergency.

Emergencies are Kent, Frost, Stretch and Maynard.

Good changes. Although I still think Brayshaw should play.

Persevering with Wagner. Obviously the coaches see something that we don’t.

Buggy is there to run around annoying the crap out of Zorko and Beams so they spend their whole time trying to smack him and forget about the footy. He’s our master of psychological warfare we are way better with him doing what he does best.

Just got the email.

Officially Tyson and Bugg in for Maynard and Haman.

Don’t mind it, better than las week but would like to see Brawshaw in the team sooner rather than later. Hope he has a run at Casey and comes back next week

I think we can agree Tyson for Maynard makes sense.

Some of us thought it made sense last week too 'Artificial'...

...and others were w....................not correct.

They weren't competing for a spot.  Brayshaw has trained all summer as a mid and Bugg replaces Hannan because he's a better pressure forward than Hannan.  We couldn't retain the ball in our forward 50 v Geelong.  Fritsch has made life problematic for Hannan.

The changes are pretty obvious.

Frost wasn't required against Brisbane because of matchups.  Brisbane have poor key forwards.

Hannan was largely invisible last week and Tyson > Maynard.

I have to say that I didn't think Bugg would play another game after smashing Heeney last year so kudos to him to working back from that precipice.

If we are who I think we are - we will win.

We played well on the road last year.  Expect that to continue with a thumping win.  60+ points

Hmm I will be happy with a win. If that is 3 points so be it.

The score sheet and the clock restarts on Saturday night.

Last week is history.

I refuse to under estimate the Lions, on their day, they could best us.

Assuming our boys now realise there is no such thing as a sure bet in footy, we should be in the right game of mind to play at our best.

At our best, we should and need to win by at least 48 points.

No slacking off no mercy.

Is matheson that stringy haired knee-dropper?

Ugh

Brayshaw must be injured. I would never have Bugg ahead of him simply because Bugg can't kick.

It wasn't Heeney

Not panicing but would have liked to have seen him in the seniors.

His time will come.

I noticed that umpires weren't paying high contact frees to cheats like Matheson who lift the arm to cause high contact themselves in round one. Must be a directive from the AFL to counteract cheats like Matheson. Did I mention he's a dirty cheat ?? Like Shuey.

Started slow but would have been in our best 5 players in the second half. Unclear whether he ends up in our best 22 but certainly shouldn't be dropped based on last week.

I just wish someone looked at me the way Simon Goodwin looks at Josh Wagner...

I'm telling myself that last week he was lethargic from the teeth being taken out and this week they wanted to give him a game at Casey instead of the travelling emergency. At least that will help me sleep at night.

I see Mathieson is in for them. I’m assuming we brought Bugg in to knock his block off?

Decent changes this week. Tyson is an obvious in as a starting midfielder for us. Buggy provides defensive pressure, which we lacked last week.

Strange Brayshaw isn’t named... not sure what’s going on there.

Bugg's not a sniper. He's a pest. There's a massive difference.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
