MUSIC TO THE EARS

The man whose names brings music to some people's ears struggled to establish a permanent place in the team. This was probably due to the fact that there is perhaps because there's so much competition for a place in defence, especially after Michael Hibberd arrived and took his spot there.

No from me, Not fast enough and disposal needs a lot of work. Doesn't make great decisions,

The footy Dept seem to like him so I will defer to their judgement but with Lever in the team I suspect limited opportunities for Wags.

Not the worst, but It'll be hard for him to find a permanent spot int he team with Hibberd firing on all cylinders.

A battler and nothing more.

Quick to shoot someone down.

Fringe or a battler to some eyes that are blind. You need  back ups and l believe that if a Hunt or a Hibberd happen to be out he would be a more than adequate replacement. Just wait and see . He is only 23.

No point of difference from any other fringer for mine. Will eek out a career if he can improve his ball use with experience, but if our list remains fit in 2018 I expect he will struggle for opportunities in the senior side.

He took a step back this season. Hoping it was injury related and that he can Blossom next season.

Spots will become harder to come by in 2018, so I don't think we will see as much of him.

Yeah...nah

A few sparks..valiant try.

Has been over taken.

Good luck and thanks.

Not a fan from his first year, but Wagner's lack of development this year was bitterly disappointing for a 23 year old in his second year in the system. He has been given plenty of opportunities, but he is still poor defensively and his skills are ordinary with or without pressure. He would need to take a major step forward next year to get a new contract.

tbh it's unfathomable and a sign that our depth is still short on quality that he played 9 games in the season

he's not overly skilled, to say the least, he's not a 'clever' player who makes great decisions, his defensive awareness is atrocious, and he doesn't seem to possess great burst speed

he looks like another in a long line of end of list players who are, in all likelihood, very good at vfl level but not good enough at afl level

When was he very good at vfl level?

there were at least a couple of games where he had 20+ possessions and looked quick and clean with his disposal

suffice to say, there's a jump from vfl to afl level intensity, obviously

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
