If West Coast can't beat a tanking Adelaide without Walker or Talia, at home, do they deserve to play finals?

If we finish in the top 8 we earned it. And as has happened time and time again, we just don't know what will happen if we get the chance to play that first final.

Not sure how the Crows are tanking, it's in their best interest to win tomorrow.

I think think is something that frustrates me. Time and time againweve had the chance to make statements when the year is done and we don't have finals to look forward to and we don't come to play. The expression of "the boys looked tired" tired seemed to be trotted out as an excuse for pissweak performances at the end of the year. 

Well take a look at Collingwood, our most hated rival, they didn't have finals, hell they didn't even have their best side but they played with passion and hunger. We had EVERYTHING to play for, just like last week, and yet both times we looked like much of the way we've looked when we've had nothing on the line. Flat, passionless, uninspired. 

Hearing that we didn't lay a single tackle in the first 10min makes me sick.

When I received an email from the club detailing the process for buying finals tickets I had a bad feeling immediately. I'm still in the rather make it than not camp, but we're nowhere near ready for it, I'd only have ab out 6 or 7 guys that played today in my team, move on the rest.

True, they were the final game of the Sunday and therefore knew that they had nothing to play for (with West Coast and GWS having already won).

Still, in some respects makes the point - they deserved to play finals because of what they had done over the prior 22 rounds, which was enough to qualify them for finals. If we make the finals it will be because of what we did over the prior 22 rounds, which will have been enough to qualify us for finals.

If Richmond and GWS both win, then an Adelaide win puts them 1st, to play Geelong, but a loss puts them 2nd to play Richmond.

Only if GWS win tonight, if Geelong wins look out for a couple of late withdrawals and cagey performances. 

It's an argument for playing every round 23 game at the same time. Logistically it would be a nightmare, but it would eliminate this situation.

On the topic of not laying a tackle in the first 10 minutes, and not laying enough tackles early - it looks like we had more of the ball in the first quarter.

Was it a case, then, of over-possessing, turning it over at half-forward, and then Collingwood getting clean and easy possessions on the turnover? If so, that explains it (and makes it easier to understand, compared to if it was contested and we just weren't prepared to get our hands dirty).

I couldn't agree more, it just doesn't appear to mean that much to the majority of the playing group.  In a couple of hours they will all be out putting up how much fun they're having on social media.  The more a watch TMac the more I believe we should test is currency on the trade table.  B.Vince just doesn't have it anymore, he should be banned from taken kick ins. N.Jones has been a warrior for us but when the game is on the line he always goes missing.

some teams have an off night and 3-4 players play bad, when we have an off night 10-14 players have an off night.

the pies pressure in the first qtr was were we should have been, we continue to take teams lightly (hawks,kangaroos, dockers) and it always vies us in the ass.

i will be cheering the crows on Sunday night

The weight of pressure will be wholly off our shoulders if we're in Adelaide or Sydney with everyone expecting a loss. Who knows what we'll produce.

We have a young , inexperienced team , who I think fell for the talk about playing in the finals.And put themselves under pressure.And we have  a 1st year coach - under pressure.We still have a chance of making the finals.But next year we will definitely play finals.Lets stick together.

I love your optimism, but do you really think we can challenge Adelaide GWS, Geelong, Sydney, Heck even Richmond will beat us.

There's always a chance we could surprise IF we make it, but realistically we're fair way off

We were exposed two weeks in a row by sides that moverd the ball quickly down the ground. This made it really difficult foro uur defenders to cover the flow especially when many times we were outnumbered when they hit the 50m mark. Two way running is a very important part of modern footy.

I felt Lewis was our best player today, because he covered a space and used the ball constructively by hand (rather than the dinky 1 m handballs that do not clear the area).

Jayden Hunt was a lot better after 1st Quarter becvause he covered his man. Jamie Elliott was BOG in first half, but i think Hunt or Jetta shut him down a fair bit.

Pretty hard for our defenders when the ball is coming lace out to you from an uncontested possession

JW was very constructive with his ball use today and was amongst our best players.

OMac stuck tyo his task very well.

I feel very sorry for TMAcx, because he deserve a better reward for the efforts he puts in. ( Yea I kno he made mistakes (2) but they were made with the best intentions.

As Simon G has said all the way along, we are developing side and evne if our season ends today then we have made progress.

Yeah I must admit I was a bit surprised. I did think maybe send that email out when we have definitely qualified. 

It is what it is. 

Did anyone else see Lyndon Dunn after the game when the siren went,  he double fisted the air and ran to the pies fans high fiving them. Yes I know he would have been happy to win and maybe knock us out of the finals but its not like they just won to play finals. 

Gawn and Viney are on game day tomorrow. Will be interesting to see what they have to say.

Yeah look at them, losing by 14 goals, finishing two places lower than last year. Not remotely in contention for finals.

Nah didn't see it and don't care. Collingwood player he's entitled to celebrate, fair to say he won't end his a career a premiership player.

No match this week, BYE next week, win first final, another week off, preliminary final - that'd be 1 match in 3-4 weeks for any rested player.

Tackles are a result of intensity full stop! 

Intensity has to be both ways on attack & defending!

Simply put it they were down hill skiers for the 1st qtr!

How they turned up knowing whats at stake still asks the question what are our leaders doing? 

Strong leaders should have picked that up in the first 5 minutes &  barked out the orders etc!
