Changes v Brisbane

jumbo returns

Recommended Posts

Probably been mentioned but on Footy Classified they showed Hogan at training hitting the tackle bags, though he was avoiding his collarbone in the footage they showed.

Doubt he plays this week but he looks keen as mustard, and might be a chance vs the Filth.  The kid wants to be on the field badly, you can tell he desperately wants to play finals.  More than anyone he deserves a happy ending to this season after the crap hes been through.

I just wonder if people would be so lenient with Weideman if we had lost the game.

One twenty tooth less lenient:roos:

I must have missed his efforts, I thought he was poor.

He was poor. No question.

Pros: competed pretty well in the air (without marking the ball) and laid some good tackles. Good general pressure. One good lead that was honoured.

Cons: barely got a touch. After his nice lead turned the ball over with a poor inside 50 kick. Missed a gimme after a gift from max.

That said is suspect he will play again and jack will need to perform for casey and show real intensity to have a shot of playing against the pies. I'm ok with that decision, should it eventuate.

I hope jack does what he needs to do and replaces Weed for the pies game. Also hoping Hogan comes back soon.

Been on crutches after every game sice he returned from surgery. Precautionary measure to help manage the wound before match day i believe.

Having said that, i would support giving him either the lions or pies games off to give him some extra healing time if possible

Out: Garlett - can't possibly just keep playing how he has been. Not attacking the ball. Making horrendous decisions with it. Missing simple shots. You can't take a small forward down on confidence and impact in to finals. Has to go back and get right in the 2's.

Out: Viney (rested/injured)

In: Stretch, JKH

Melksham goes in to the midfield to tag Zorko so we need the extra half forward in JKH. Stretch plays wing and Harmes/Hannan/Petracca move closer to goal.

If Hogan isn't all that far off I'd stick with the Weid. Give him a go against younger opponents. If not I'd bring Frost in and decide based on match ups if Frost should play forward or back. He's not a forward but I think he can offer something in the 2nd tall forward role as a pressure and physicality player. That's all we want from the second tall.

Maybe, but I can all but guarantee he doesn't touch it in a final.

His efforts have been insipid of late. Absolutely no interest in winning the ball under any physical pressure.

What a load of rubbish.  He has had a couple of down weeks and it's seems to have fallen in line with the death of a family member.

His tackle numbers have dropped away since mid year. The clangers are rising. And the physical play has been non existent for most of the year.

Yeah the worst of the weeks have been the last two but that doesn't mean you get a free pass. If he's flying back and forward across the country that's more reason not to play him.

Small forwards who don't lay tackles and don't play with physicality have been found out in finals over and over again. Garlett has two weeks to show he won't be one of them and I'd rather he earned his spot back to do it. Just like Watts should be/is doing.

I agree Jeffy hasnt been brilliant but he is far from our worst. If we had a fully fit Hogs and a confident Watts it would make is role a lot easier.

When you see someone on crutches due to a foot injury usually you see them with a moccasin or a thong on the sore foot.

From the news footage Viney had both feet in shoes/runners which indicates to me it's purely keeping some weight off.

Club expects him to play according to the AFL site.

He didn't sound confident when interviewed.  Looks like he might miss

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
