Talking of coaching moves: Heard a rumour that Brad Scott is off to Collingwood? !! Source North supporter.

Wishful thinking on their part - rid themselves of Scott, and impose him on Collingwood.

the media around this issue has been interesting.  Rocket is a nice guy but I dont get how he is getting away with doing very little on field with a young talented team over 3 years.  The suns made a mistake sacking him?  please! there has been no signs of improvement in 3 years, no game style, no toughness.  of course there is all the off field club issues people talk about but his main role is to get them playing as a team on field and he has failed miserably.

Interesting stuff up at the GC.

Eade definitely walked unknowingly into a basket case, similar to Pagan at Carlton. Maybe not so much in terms of list, but player unity, moral and culture were totally dysfunctional. Added to that, the players didn't seem to gel with him. Yeah maybe he should have got more out of the list, but we Dees fans know too well that a crackpot cub simply can't produce the goods. Sad for him really, I reckon he is a very, very good coach.

Mark Evans has a lot of work to do. If PJ got us up off the canvas in 3 years, it might take Evans 5 up there.

Great tactical mind and studies film and statistics extensively. It's everything I'd want my senior coach to be. Shame he found himself at a tire fire of a club.

All those picks and concessions for nothing.

Well done to the AFL for creating something nobody wanted..

Relocate them to Tassie.

Roosy could get 2.5 mil per year if he went up to build that joint.  I was going to say rebuild them but you cant rebuild something that never really existed.

Roos can ask whatever he likes at the moment. Collingwood are desperate for a messiah (we've been there) and the AFL sanctioned Gold Coast are in trouble.

open cheque book and just 3 more years. He and Tammy retire. Two clubs with unlimited budgets want him. Stranger things have happened.

Whoever coaches the Suns will have problems with players( especially those interstate ones) wanting to return home supposingly the sooky effect. I used to be dead against a tassie team due to low attendances and hence lack of revenue for the club.Taking in consideration two teams play home games there, relocating the GC suns there would be a good idea. Also Brisbane lions would have more access to local players.

Rocket was given a bucket of puss to coach with lots of problems not to mention all the injuries and wasn't given enough time to right the ship

I actually think it was a mistake to sack him.

I hear Neelds available!

Gotta be part of the GOLD COAST thing.

No social fabric, no leafy Eastern suburbs. Everyone running away from something; failed marriage, failed business, failed whatever

Built on Joh's graft, cultural events are schoolies and [censored] flashing at car races.  Institute of excellence honours convicted swindler.

On ABC Website - can't do the link thing but ratifies what I mentioned above re: itinerant, fly in fly out lifestyle.

And drug use.

Would love to see the business case for a Gold Coast team.

The only plus that I can see is weekly live TV match and media coverage in Qld.

It will never be cash flow positive but then again there are probably only 6-8 teams that are.

As each week goes by the more convinced I am that this money would be better spent in Tasmania.

A 35k indoor stadium funded by the Feds (a la Geelong) would be packed.... not to mention a vote winner

Thank God Tassie never had home team in the sixties/seventies.

Percy Jones in the ruck.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
