Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

GAMEDAY - Round 17

One thing that I think holds us in good stead for this game is that with Watts, Tyson and potentially Viney all returning next week, it puts plenty of pressure on players to hold their spots.  Guys like JKH, Harmes, ANB, Pedersen, Kent etc, will want to keep their spot with finals looming on the horizon and hopefully that means we have more of our mid tier players stepping up and making an impact.  With Salem and Jones also returning in the coming weeks it means competition for spots will be fierce.

Feeling quietly confident about this game as I think we'll have a red hot go, but a loss tonight won't define our season nor impact our chances on making the finals.

I had a dream last night that we were getting smashed by the Crows. But it was at the MCG so I’ll take that as a sign we’re better off being in Darwin.

As a Melbourne supporter who spent his first 6 years of life in Darwin and surrounding areas before moving to Brisbane and then finally to Melbourne when I was 8 (being indoctrinated into the cult of the Demon by my grandfather just in time for my heart to be broken by Essendon in 2000), I’m stoked to be supporting a club that plays a game each year in what still feels like my home state after all these years.

Surely our pre-season training camp and expertise on this ground, coupled with our good performance against the Crows earlier in the year will hold us in good stead tonight. I’m hopeful but pessimistic, as any sane Melbourne supporter should be.

I just slugged some Kahlua into my coffee - feeling way more relaxed about the game now  - every part of me just wants us to win with tonight's team - then I'll know we are the biggest chance at the pointy end of the comp!!  I'm in NZ so will be a late kick off for me :)  - better pace myself!

Same.  Feeling good about the game, unlike last weeks game where I was filled with dread.

I think they've gone in to tall and have misread the conditions. We should have more speed and know how to handle the conditions to use our rotations better.

Gawn won't have a game like last week, mark my words he'll bounce back hard this week and be best on ground

VDB may no longer be an automatic best 22.

He wasn't at the start of 2017 for mine either.

It's interesting this game, because although we don't have enough going in our midfield, if you can stop Sloane, the Adelaide midfield is surprisingly shallow for a top 2 certainty.

If we can match them in the middle and Frost, Hibberd and co can provide drive off half back we've a glimmer of hope. But perhaps I'm buoyed by our last outing against the Crows?

There's a bit of that, which is why I think the Crows are ordinary, and Swans unbeatable.

There are some midfielders playing for their careers tonight. Play well and it is harder to bring back long term injured players.

Put in a poor game and it may be the last time a player represents the MFC

I reckon everyone's beatable. The Sydney midfield depth is not what it was. They've had a terrific two months, but I reckon they're peaking too early. Expect some stumbles from Sydney in the back end of the year.

They are probably more likely than Adelaide though.

You must only be referring to JKH...

No one else is playing for their career.

Based on his recent contract extension, I would suggest nor is he.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
