Not a lot of must watch games this weekend.

I suppose the big one is Swans v Bombers on Friday night.

A few other 50/50 games in Bulldogs v North and Saints v Suns that will probably end the losers finals chances.

Collingwood v Port could be interesting as well.

Richmond v Carlton is a must watch if only just to see how Richmond capitulate due to the fact their brains are like sweet potatoes in a pressure cooker!

Who wins the Dogs vs Roo's game?

I'm half expecting the Dogs to be seething and come out and play an absolute blinder but then again...

They would need to flick a switch.. they have looked disinterested all season.

And I am not sure they are good enough to flick a switch - they may be reigning premiers but they arent a powerhouse that will win multiple flags like the Hawks, Cats or Lions dynasties.

Ablett plays his 300th at 4:40 against the saints at Etihad on Sunday. Thats going to attract a massive crowd. Probably deseves a bit better. at least work it out so he could miss a game so he could play it at home. It may have bought a few more people through the gate.

Anyway I want sydney to thrash or just beat the bummers tomorrow night and nothing would make me laugh more if carlton beat richmond.

Crows can't handle white clash strips in Adelaide.

I think Hawthorn are still a class side (on their night). A few handy additions tonight.

But, give the Crows time. I still think its hard to beat them over there. We have managed to do it more than most. But we have had to play damn good football to do so.

Still be a bigger crowd than what would turn up at Metricon

Yep, good side in tonight, I give them a chance. But a lot has to go right.

I hope the Crows smash them though.

Somebody needs to tell Hamish that Hawthorn are crap, that most of their players are shadows of what they were, and that the non-Hawthorn supporting AFL general public hold very little goodwill towards a side that won 3 premierships in a row by exploiting Free Agency.

We get it. You support them. The rest of us [censored] hate them, so shut your gob.

Hawks are playing like they did against us - Roughead, O'Brien and Gunston tall up forward, with Poppy at their feet...they had Rioli against us too.

Defensively thy're looking sound - Burton and Howe both stand taller with Birchall alongside them, Burton in particular is an impressive youngster.

Their pressure is much better tonight.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits.
