Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Think he might like seeing the inside of our medical room?

He's contracted until the end of 2017. Hasn't had a great run with injuries I agree, if he can play out the season without a serious injury I'd be looking at him.

Already looks like he's struggling to get through games without his back giving him issues. Also just missed a set shot from 15 metres out on 45 degree angle. Wouldn't bother chasing him unless he cost us very little. Would rather we chase key position forward/second ruck or a key defender. Steven May or Jake Lever would be ideal.

Fair call, Collingwood would probably want too much anyway.

They'd ask for a first or second rounder. Elliott is nearly 25 years old and still can't stay on the park. He's a decent talent, but hardly worth giving up good picks for. We have a number of small, and Garlett is already better than Elliott. We need depth for our talls and ideally another good key defender like Steven May. If we landed him over the off-season I'd rate us a premiership chance next year!

It will be tough for Adelaide to come back being a man down for the half now (Tom Lynch looks to be done for the day). They've clearly been the better team since quarter time (kicked 7 goals to 2), but letting any team kick 10 goals before you even score will never end well.

They may be without Tom Lynch (injured) and Charlie Cameron (suspension) next week though which helps us when we play them over in Adelaide.

I think they will be without Cameron, but I reckon Lynch will get up for next week. Not looking forward to playing a fired up Adelaide, I hope we come prepared.

All the celebrations and backslapping after they beat Geelong last week...  7 days later and the calls for Buckleys head will be back in full swing lol

Great that Collingwood pull off the occasional surprise to ensure that Buckley isn't sacked - wouldn't want them to employ someone who could actually coach!

Elliott is a good talent, but he just can't get on the park (or stay there). He's played well this game, but game's in the balance and he is on the bench getting worked on as his back/hip is giving him trouble again. If he can't string more than 4-5 games together every few years he's not much use.

Petrevski-Seton looks the goods for the Blues. I know he was a high draft pick (pick6-7?) but looks like they nailed that pick. Good blend of inside/outside midfielder. Links up well and hits the scoreboard.

Intuitive indigenous talent that can play inside/outside would certainly be what I'd be looking at targeting come draft time.

Never thought I'd be saying this, but like many of us around this place, I'm rapt that Carlton won today.  Good Old Collingwood ........NEVER!  Eddie will be crying into his Moet tonight.

It's good that they get a "big" win every now and then. Keeps Buckley alive. Which in turn keeps our amusement alive.

I wonder if Jamie Elliott would entertain a move?

He's an upgrade on ANB, Frost or VDB (Or BKen :/ ). But as we have Petracca and Watts, Elliot isnt a pressing need at all. I'd tempt the scorn of Demonland by saying this, but bringing back a J. Howe into the forward line And Defence would fill a far bigger hole immediately.

There's not one team in the league that we can't beat.

I'ts been a long time since a Melbourne supporter could say that.

There's a long way to go but this season is shaping as one where there could be 15 or 16 teams fighting it out for finals until the very end.

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
