No no no no.

Make Weid earn it.

Only change should be Hogan if his is ready.

Normally I'd agree, but we lacked a target in the f50 for the long bail out kick. If Hogan is ready I'd leave him at Casey.

There's no one to bring in for Melksham. Possibly when Wagner is fit, Melksham will be in trouble.

Wagner was bog for Casey

Wagner best on for Casey. Replaces Melksham.

Reckon Wagner is a talent and like Hunt has dash and is fearless.  Love his attack on the pill.

24 posts and not one person calling for Melksham to be dropped.  Its a miracle.

Kent will come in and hopefully The Hulk

For whom?

I would guess that a poll of this board would have JKH out for Kent, but listen to Goody's presser - said JKH didn't get a lot of the ball but played his role.

IF Jesse is ready to return, who goes out?  3 goal, 5 mark, 3 tackle  Hannon?

Take your pick.  Jesse is an automatic in.

Doesn't matter, he walks in before anyone

Even though Hawks are much slower this season I can't  see Trengove keeping up with the modern game even against them. Will only get a game if 3 midfielders go down with injury.

This is outrageous I thought Bugg did some fantastic work today and I reackon we are a better team with his no nonsenec approach in it

Trengove , Look I dont care how many touches he gets and a very substandard VFL! The game has passed him by, he is too slow!

Two Changes

In Hogan, White

Out Neal Bullen, jkh

Weeds needs to build some confidence for a week or two kicking a few goals at Casey. Another question , why call it Casey why not Cranbourne coz after all thats where it is!!?

Agree with all of that,  if Hogan ready. Maybe Kennedy for JKH for balance?  Its in the City of Casey. Maybe Melbourne should be called Jolimont because thats where it is...

I love a settled team. Especially if it's winning games and structuring well, which we did in the second half. But...

Out: JKH, ANB, Melksham

In: Kent, Stretch, Benken (Possibly Wagner)

I'm still the only person who likes JKH. But he's had two goes, in the Roosy fashion. And he's been costly. Is out of touch. Kent offers more in terms of pace and leading, especially if Hogan is out still.

ANB has been busy, but lost his way today badly. Stretch brings more up the ground too, and I'm starting to really trust his disposal.

Melksham is Goody's favourite. But man he butchered the ball and made errors. He drives me nuts. Rather have Wags in for that role, or Benken to add some zip in the middle to rest Oliver... which they're already doing.

And conversely, you couldn't care less how many touches Mitch White has in the 'sub-standard' VFL, he's your boy and you want him in.

And even when he's replacing a crumbing forward.

I would like all four of  Kent, Wagner, Hogan, Stretch in to the side.

Doubt that will happen this week, but damn its nice to have depth.

Josh Wagner: 12 kicks 8 handballs 20 disposals 5 marks 6 tackles

Tyson is our 22nd best player at the minute considering he is still playing.

Another average game both by foot and in his inability to consistently impact throughout the game.

We're carrying him atm.

Yes, we get it, you don't like Tyson.

Surely though, in a game in which our midfield worked into form over the four quarters, we're not going to drop a midfielder without an obvious replacement at Casey.

Would have though players like OMac (if Hogan is ready), ANB, JKH and Melksham would be in more danger this week.

Frawley and Gibson... while one isn't skilled and the other is in a career nosedive... Shouldn't be underestimated. Bring in Weed or Hulett type (much as I want to see him) and the Hawks will be very pleased. Hogan could take on both and smash them, if he comes back and dives straight into work as part of the grieving process.

Hard to see O'Mac being dropped: not a huge number of disposals, but highest efficiency on the field. Plus 8 marks and a huge 14 1%'ers (if not a misprint ...). The other plus with Oscar is that he seems to be able to play all day: 99% of game time is almost like having another player on the bench.

Also, to state the obvious, having Oscar there frees up Tom to take the ruck when the ball's in the back half.

Fair enough. I suppose we're probably a tall player short anyway, so we mightn't need to drop one to bring Hogan back and it could be a swap for someone like ANB instead.

We must be doing one heck of a job carrying the bloke. Averaging 26 touches at 68% and 354 metres gained. Imagine if he found form! Brownlow!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
