How could you possibly argue with that? It beggars belief.

He can play predominantly forward and give Max a chop out when he needs it (Max could go to the bench or rest up forward).

Give Hoges the CHF position. It's the one he should be playing.

The big winner when Gawny and Hoges come back will be Wattsy, you watch his performances spike he'll be off the leash once he gets the 3 or 4 defender and spells through the midfield.

This was after he returned, assumed he should be same playing weight as last year, which he was, spoke to him at B&F and first day of training whilst he was rehabbing.  Goodwin moved goalposts, it was a win win  for Pedo and the club,  lack of comprehension skills on your part methinks, again care factor NIL

With Gawn likely back next week and Spencer already back, lets have a look what happened with Pedders filling in as first ruck -

We went 4-2 with the two losses being very close

He averaged 16 disposals, 5 marks, 5 tackles, 15 hitouts and kicked 8 goals in the 6 games

Battled hard despite giving away roughly 10 cms and 10 kg each week to his opponent

Pedders, we salute you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has a role to play when Max is back. Must be retained in the side.

Has to be CHF when Gawn comes back.

One of the rare ones that knows when to lead, and knows how to hit someone on a lead.

Brilliant effort from him since he's come in. But my god it's been frustrating with no real ruckman.

TMAC is no good up forward. Put Pedders there, he can help out Max by relieving and Max can rest forward.

At least we know that when Max is resting on the bench, Pedo can take most of the duties with TMAC being half decent to help out Pedo.

Pedo draws a couple of defenders which left the likes of Petracca Bugg and Garlett to make a real influence.

Deserves another year.

Definitely deserves another 12 months. I think that kind of contract keeps him going at 100% either.

Its amazing the transformation from ducking his scone in his first game for us to the way he crashes packs now.

Hes still just a good ordinary player but hes impossible to dislike

His efforts have been fantastic. He is to be admired for the efforts and team things that he does.

There is a spot for him in the best 22 as 2nd big Fwd /Backup ruckman. This means that our Fwd line would consist of Petracca, Pedo, Jack W , Jeffy , Hoges, Hannan . Pretty good I reckon because it has mixture of toughness, quickness and class.

And every successful team has some good ordinary players.

I salute him. He has done all that has been asked of him.

I've been a Pedo-backer from way back, but I'm not yet ready to gloat. He's doing exactly what I thought he would given the opportunity - being serviceable and competitive without setting the world on fire. Big question is whether he retains his spot when Hogan and Gawn come back in, and I'm not so sure. I think he should, essentially bumping Weed from the starting 22 from the start of the year (while providing reasonably empty back-up tap-ruck seconds to hold our structures), but I expect Goodie is keen to get back to what he thought was the best set-up pre-injuries. That's Hogan as our KPF and Watts as back-up in the ruck with an otherwise mobile and versatile forward-line. Still not sure if Pedo has a spot going forward.

16 disposals, five marks and over a goal per game playing as an undersized ruckman is better than "honest".

I see honest as high praise. He will never be a world beater but since his return to the side this year he has left nothing in the shed. He was spanked yesterday yet did not drop his head and was a good contributor. Makes a contest against opposing ruckman giving away height ( 8 cm to Grundy). He has more than earned his place each week.

You've seriously got to be joking.

You said that he never said he came back overweight. I point you to a direct quote where Pedersen says "I came back a little heavy".

But it's me with a lack of comprehension skills?! You couldn't make it up.

If Pedersen says he came back heavy, if the club says he came back heavy, if his teammates say he came back heavy, THEN HE CAME BACK HEAVY. It's OK to admit you're wrong once in a while.

Cam has been re- ontracted for another year.  http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-08-18/big-men-sign-on-for-2018-season

He is a great example of a player who took on board coaches feedback and worked hard to get the best of himself.  That he has been so willing to do any role the team needed him to play has been a real asset to our club.  I doubt we would be on the verge of finals if he had not risen to the occasion.

Delighted he is staying with us.  Congratulations, Cam.

I'm watching a reply of last night's AFL 360.

David King was just discussing the 'evenness' of the ruckman this year, and said that McEvoy is probably leading the pack.

He then said, for the 8 games that Cam Pedersen rucked solo, Champion Data had him as clearly the number one ruckman in the competition. He's a 193cm utility.

The guy is a legend. He's all heart. So pleased (and relieved) he's had the season he's had, both for himself and the club. His performances have been absolutely critical for us.

No doubt there'll be a lot of silence from those posters who authoratively proclaimed him to be a list clogger and nothing more than a VFL player. They've obviously been absolutely wrong though - his contributions have kept our season alive. Pleasingly, the football department has acknowledged this through extending his contract.

I just wish he played a few more games earlier in the season. Perhaps we'd now be pushing for the top 4?

Well done Cam. Hats off to you. A true Demon.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
