I don't get it.  And what's in it for Carlton?  Nothing.

you don't get into trouble for having an opinion and colouring the description. what's in it for any supporter?

He is a Carlton loyalist. Putting in his two bobs worth to rub it in to us. That's says enough. Who is going to dob him in.  No one is going to challenge his medical opinion.

Okay, I just don't buy it.  I know many doctors and I don't know one that would be unethical in such a situation and doing it in a high profile situation is much riskier than I think you're giving it credit for.  There is nothing in it for Carlton and nothing in it for the doctor.

I does seem that this situation gives us the opportunity to play the victim which is something I really hate but is part of the landscape (generally) now.

Doctors last i looked were human.

Dont for one moment think all are cast from the same mould.

Essendon has a doctor. Not much chop push come to shove

Im not blaming doctors. The seeds for this farcical situation is firmly in ths AFLs corner and especially the MRP

Doesn't help our cause when you have the crooked boohoos to boot !!

and it's all about flavour of the month/year and then a massive over-reaction to make a statement

this year it may be concussion, next year it may be broken limbs and some dolt will cop 5 weeks for diving on the ball and taking out someone's legs who will miraculously recover to play the next week

remember jack trengove got a huge suspension for a sling tackle and dangermouse kicked 5 the next week in a bog. nobody since has got such a suspension for a sling tackle

and all this occurs without the player(s) even getting a chance to defend themselves

All the doc has to say is its his/her OPINION. Surprise, surprise Patricks playing this weekend.

Exactly.  Obviously i wont name him but he worked very closely with me to get the outcome i wanted. They can put their name on just about anything without getting questioned. We got rogered and Carlton didn't even put on the lipstick

If we take TWSNBN's doctor as the yardstick it could not be beyond the realms to speculate no injury at all to these players. Could this be true. Who turned up to training with a recording device and then had to put it in an orifice to not get caught. Stay tuned.....

The Doc didn't even have to be sus. It could come down to a question of where is the line between low and medium impact? If you are annoyed that your team lost and two of your blokes get whacked you aren't going to be in a great mood. That mood may well have swayed it from one to the other, it may also have clouded their judgement. None of that is intentional, nor unforgivable, but it does show a problem with the system. The Fact neither player was immediately tested for concussion is interesting and questions should be asked.

and one other point...........it wasn't behind play, it was in front of play and there is a big difference. jesse was positioning himself the ball about to come down. rowe trying to block him, pushed him in the chest whilst facing away from the ball......i don't call that behind play. jesse's jab was also an open hand. so reports of a punch behind play is wrong and just adds to the exaggeration. he should have got 1 week, that's all but he has to risk 3 just to plead his case

On the positive, Watts bowled the umpy over without repercussions.

He did what I dream of doing every weekend I watch us play (minus a few fists thrown in for good measure). Just another talent of his to appreciate :P

On the positive side, if Hogan did have a niggle this gives him time to get over it and come back super fit and ready to rip the comp apart!

Delayed concussion is real. Hogan used the five point palm exploding heart trick on Rowe's face.

I think the intent was to not use a closed fist, rather than a pressure point blow to the head area, my opinion only

Scintalating Stevo on the channels of 7 last night reminded carlscom that if indeed Rowe was concussed ( concushioned ) last week then he would have to be withdrawn this week.

Personally I thought Cripps tripping over himself in the vicinity of Lewis and Viney was unfortunate.

Jesse's way of getting a recuparitive week off was brilliant.

Chris Scott can't coach and our team can at our new favourite away ground can.

Interesting!

Watson said in last night's news something like - there was a bit of a fuss brewing at Carlton with Rowe selected to play.

Then Sam Mcclure said after the game last night he wouldn't be surprised if Rowe was a late withdrawl because of the 'little bit of concussion'.  (Note Carlton's medical report chose the words carefully - 'little bit of concussion'.  Hedged their bets: enough to condemn Hogan but not enough to stop Rowe playing?).

Maybe the Channel 7 folk know something?

I would laugh and laugh if Rowe's 'little bit of concussion' backfires and he can't play:cool:  The only downside is its more likely Ess will win:mad:

Best case scenario:  Rowe out and Carlton find a way to win!!

I have a problem with this game, I dislike one club and the other is my most disliked club.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
