Watts is mentioned in the third paragraph. If anyone was the culprit I was hoping it was him showing aggressive intent but he was just helping him find the teeth

hahha f me imagine the outrage if it was Wattsy?! "Goodwin pushing him too hard".

Ps poor Mitch, thank goodness I've never knocked out a tooth but have seen a few do so, doesn't seem fun at all let alone the cost for weekend players.

I've noticed recently that a lot of players don't seem to wear mouthguards these days.

Crazy.

I notice Viney does though.

I assume the AFLPA put it in his contract. He's already a danger to the rest of the league, without a muzzle he might accidentally kill someone.

It is my understanding that some players don't wear one because they find it impedes their air intake.  I would have thought that it would be worth the discomfort and am amazed how many players go down that path.

so make ones with air holes drilled into them and aerodynamic tips - lol - test run them in a wind tunnel

But, down to business.

Can anyone who was there rate #4's intensity on a scale of 0-10?

Thanks

Interesting re read of the article:

"Hannan's two teeth were partially dislodged from the force of McKenna's elbow and he was taken to visit the dentist at the end of the training session."

Partially dislodged - maybe looking on the ground wasn't where they were - did they look in his bleeding mouth?

From MFC Twitter (includes a before and after photo) which I can't seem to copy.(Edit: Fixed. See next entry)

A tough day in the office for ? Never fear though, a trip to the dentist has got him looking as good as new! ?

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
