And we still don't really know ANYTHING, still conjecture rolled in interpretation.

Many making out they " know" something.

Another funny thread.

Those days are long gone ... the media are making this a story and the club is playing a straight bat.

Watts is being treated like any other player on the list.

No, he is not. When others have done the wrong thing off field eg young Oliver they have been named and sanctioned by the club. Even made to apologise to teammates. IF Jack has done something wrong off field then he should have been named and the misdoing stated. Instead, the club cover up by talking vaguely about 'some issues' leaving us all totally in the dark with many false assumptions. Bad form MFC. Come out in the open and let us know what is really going on before things escalate.

My reading of it is that he's missed out on form Bobby ... and training form does matter.

I don't see anything sinister. It's a new year and a new broom sweeps clean.

Great to see the club take a hard line with players who aren't giving 100%. even if he is giving 85% and its not obvious. soft clubs let this slide but Goody wants Watts to be a star of the comp not just a good player

In Watts' defence it does not seem to be in nature to be 100% focused on footy for 11 months of the year. For Viney he eats it up. I haven't seen Viney out partying at 3am

Watts will be need to pushed by his coaches and teammates every now and then and it is no big deal.

Have you actually seen Watts out partying at 3 am or are you just relying on hearsay?

Yeah I've seen him at 3am a few weeks back. Only once though, then again I'm not out at 3am very often

Watts didn't want to go into detail, but on 7 news mentioned it revolved around training "intensity" issues.

All this because his heart rate wasn't fast enough during a training session.

At training, there are 2 fixed cameras, two roving cameras, the players wear GPS, there are approximately 8 coaches at any one time, who are all linked by mobile radio, there is nowhere to hide at training

Also saw the interview. Pretty cut and dry now. It's about intensity and Goodwin is not letting Jack fall into his old habits. No more speculation needed.

And if you're a coach, you need to know how to motivate different types of players. Every coach knows how to motivate a "hard-nut" - in fact, you can do just about anything. But how you motivate a player like Watts is not how you motivate a "hard nut". Roos knew that, and got the best out of Watts.

Whatever way we want to describe these types of players (Warrior spirit?), one thing is for sure, these players are worth their weight in gold.  They have to be top-line footballers as well of course.

It can't be taught and it can't be coached either ... in fact,  any coach would generally leave these players to their own devices but would know that any instruction would be carried out to the letter.  It's interesting that our 2 captains qualify as absolute proven hardnuts.

Jack Watts will get his way into the senior team and when he does,  he'll know that he'll need to perform well to stay in the side.

Good teams have up to 12-14 players who perform well in 4 out of 5 games or perhaps perform well in 5 out of 6 games.  That's got to be the standard if we're going to contend.

Well, I understand your sarcasm, but when the club peddles out key criteria and KPI BS, a simple "lacking intensity" would've been nice.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
