We can't afford to carry players if we're contending for finals. In a close game he would cost us the match. I've never seen a player fumble more in 25 years.

I think he has good attributes and will be solid long term, but he's not ready yet and we can't carry players anymore. Dunn or Frost takes his spot as they're both ready to go. He got outmarked by Keays 2-3 times when one on one. He is 11cms taller and 13kgs heavier yet got out-bodied. If Dunn is there, that won't happen. Simple as that.

If Dunn was there he'd give away a stupid free kick

If we're supposed to be getting games on merit. This hasn't lived up to the premise.

In what universe is this guy an AFL standard player?

He is slow, ;lacks awareness, fumbly, easily pushed of the ball and just not up to it.

Love to know what the match commitee see that I don't ???

Anyone else share the same opinion?

I love how hysterical you get over a kid who has played a handful of games

Christ, the kid hasn't even played 5 games. He kept Schache goalless, which wasn't a bad effort.

Tyson was just as poor today i felt, he didn't register a single stat. Oh wait.......... he was withdrawn due to sickness, but by your logic, that isn't a good enough excuse. At least Oscar can get on the park. FMD

Give him some time. I'm sure Roos and Goodwin see more and know him better than us punters. If we cut every key position player who struggled in their first 10 games we'd only have a bunch of mids playing. Whilst he made some poor decisions and turned the ball over a few times, his opponent (Schache) was kept to SFA. Isn't that an important KPI for a big backman?

He's clearly not ready right now.

The question is whether we want to develop him in the seniors. If Dunn's really that bad right now that OMac is the better option, then that says more about Dunn than OMac.

I like the kid, he tries and he has the right traits, but he is lost in many aspects of the game. IMO should be developing in the VFL.

Sure he wasn't a giant killer but how many did his direct opponent (such as they  are today) get?

He fought back hard later in the game.

He has played a mere handful of games - sure he needs some more time at Casey but this was a good game to give him another taste and get the feel of what is required.

Stupid thread.  He smashed his opponent today.  His disposal was good.  He won several loose balls which has always been a weakness for him.  He was up against a guy who is taller, heavier and has played twice as many games as him, as well as being drafted 51 spots earlier.  He was solid today and certainly doesn't deserve to be targeted like this.

The kid (playing his fourth game I think) had some errors but found the ball 18 times and I am pretty sure his opponent was Schache all day who took one mark and kicked one point. Some peoples focus after a game I just don't get at times.

The Big O is still a raw kid. Playing him against The Bears was good thinking.

Back to Casey to work on his ball skills when pressure is around

too early to call whether he will make it

i think Frank Grimes has played his last game for us though, if he was overlooked today then that looks like it in my opinion.

I have NEVER seen such a loose backline...

I think he needs more AFL exposure, not more VFL time. There's such a difference between both levels that I want us getting games into him now. The FD seem to agree.

You may be right, but play him when Nev Jetta is in the side

today our backline looked like Play School. Long Term we may benefit, but i want the team to also push for a finals spot this year. Get some REAL experience.

The Big O is nowhere near ready for that.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
