I hadn't heard of them as a clothing company and assumed the Tobacco advertising laws still applied.

Thanks for the info.

The Peter Jackson suit ads were almost as famous as the Kevin Dennis car ads not to mention the Franco Cozzo...... "norta melbourne and foot- is- cray"

Go. Support the Scorps and support the Melbourne players. The Dogs fans get behind their VFL team so we need our fans out there and in full voice!

Been out of the country for a couple of weeks so am VERY keen to see some fair dinkum AFL when I get back on the weekend.

This NFL circus stuff where they take 3 & 1/2 hours to play 4 x 15 minutes of (alleged) action does my head in - (altho' the cheerleaders provide an interesting distraction in the dull moments).

Hoping like crazy that the 'Shitihad Curse' doesn't afflict the Scorps!

After the Carlscum debacle and the slaughter at the Cattery, anything which provides the Club with a sense of momentum would be extremely welcome.

No Don't, I took my Mrs to Bunnings for a sausage on valentines day and she didn't appreciate it.

And she still has the nerve to tell me I don't care about her.

Some women are never pleased.

On a footballing note I read that Salem is considered likely to play. Our erstwhile reporter has posted the link above.

I have to say I find this incredible. Salem was out like the proverbial light yet they are saying the concussion was very mild.

With all the concerns about, duty of care and litigation, not to mention the possibility of damage emerging later - why would you take the risk?

He was apparently pretty good in the rooms and then went straight home to rest. The Doctors obviously think it is not a risk, or he would be out.

Yes no doubt that is the case RL.

However I still find it difficult to reconcile with way he looked after the hit.

After our last meeting with St Kilda, I swore I would never go back to that shocking venue.

However, I am making an exception this weekend as I feel starved of football already and excited about seeing Casey in the GF.

I was talking to a former Casey player yesterday (he left at the end of last season) and he feels Casey have it over the Bulldogs and will win comfortably.

Agree Uncle, not worth the risk IMO. Will win confortably without him anyway! Mild concussion who are they trying to kid!??

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
