  1. Spoke to my mate yesterday about Barlow. He says GC has offered him a longer contract and on much bigger $$ than what we have. He also say because Barlow came into the system late and is getting on in age in footy terms we might lose out on this one now. He was totally confident a few weeks ago we would land him but not so much now. Oh oh well let's see what plays out.
  2. Hate the bloody Hawks but you have to admire there ability to get the player they want. Traelor - Two times pick seven. Carlisle - Pick five. Prestia - Likely pick six. And Tom Mitchell to the Hawks for pick 14. Burger me......... To top it off we're struggling to do a deal to get Hibberd maybe we need Graham Wright to come and negotiate for us
  3. Spoke to my contact last night and to cut a long story short Jesse will be playing for MFC next year and club is more than confident we will get a signature this week.
  4. Was valued at 9M when we took it over in 2011 on a 10 year agreement. Land alone would have to be worth a crap load. Would be an awesome cash grab for the club if we could develop it and sell it off.
  5. All too true. We've also used the bentleigh club for some of our functions that I've attended. Anyway was was thinking about the bentleigh club the other day. Do we take full ownership of it? If so when? Will we likely sell it to developors and make a bucket load of $$$? its in a crap spot for a pub/bistro etc. Anyway I'm sure it has been discussed in here but just wanted to know where we stand. Thanks heaps
  6. And that's what I'm hearing. The MFC don't know. RB like you I've been told that he has had a number of offers infront of him.
  7. Dee's really need some more run and carry. JJ and the dogs really showed that today
  8. Tipping the swans to win easily. The dogs sort of remind me of the Dee's in 2000. Having said that no one was going to beat Essendon that year.
  9. BA, I think all clubs have the same salary cap next year. Lions, Suns, Swans and Giants are just left with the academy zones in which is just as much and if not more of an unfair advantage.
  10. And that's what the problem is. No one except Jesse and him manager know what his thinking right now.
  11. Guys, spoke to my contact yesterday. Bottom line is the club has presented Jesses management with a number of contracts. Freo and WCE have both l approached Melbourne about a trade. We have told them to bugger off in no uncertain terms. He did however say that this might be a playing games tactic. Jesses decision will not be based around anything but the go home factor. Club is HOPING and expects to hear something next week. After speaking to him i came away with the feeling that Jesse will be playing for us next year with either a new contract or on the existing one. Anyway I'm ready to be shot down...... LOL. Also said we are still in dialogue with Barlow and club is confident of landing him as a nice up-grade in Matt Jones. Didnt know anything about us being interested in Motlop. Go Dee's
  12. After going to the game yesterday and a number of Casey games this year I'm sorry to say and I hope I'm wrong but think his done. His still relatively young and with a full pre season who knows. I also think he's lost some penetration in his kicking.
  13. Everyone's either bored or frustrated if we're picking on spelling.
  14. Maybe I should have taken a different approach. Take two. From what I was told not the weekend just gone but the one before. And yes some or even a lot of this has been floated on this tread. 1). Club was 95% sure that contract would have been finalised by now, well months ago. Jesse announcing contract talks on hold came as a shock. Club was not expecting it. 2) CBA had nothing to do with contract talks being put on hold. 3) Club does not believe money being put infront of Jesse was the issue contract talks stopped. 4) Sime of the current players do not believe Jesse will stay at the club long term. 5) Club has held off progressing too far in talks with some potential recruits that are more high profile than Hibberd. They are waiting in a little more clarity. 6) We should hear something by end of next week. All I'm doing is passing on what I've been told. Also next time I see him I'll ask about Barlow again as he said Melbourne were quite interested and had spoke with him. After watching yesterday, another slow player I hope not.
  15. HL has a decent contract. Can't see him going anywhere unless of course he decides to give it away.
  16. Don't want to get shot down hence my reluctance to post earlier.... All I've been told is that Jesse has been given as much space as possible since end of season. Club is not pushing Jesse hard however has given him time and space to think about his future and where that lies. The bloke I know does not have any idea if Jesse will decide to stay or go. He does not believe Jesse knows what he wants to do either at this point. He has his opinion but it's just an opinion based on what he knows right now. He's told me that Jesse will speak to relevant parties within the club shortly. Also told me that the club was super confident Jesse was going to a agree to a new deal quite some time ago. Then a back flip. Club was quite taken a back at the time. Also told me his decision will be 95% based on where he wants to live and that the CBA stuff that was reported was rubbish. Told me Jessse loves his team mates and likes Melbourne and that he is torn as reported. Club is holding out on other player contracts at the moment because of this situation.
  17. Think your right on Jease's management having no influence on his decision. Also don't believe his decision will be influenced too much by $$. He will get paid quite well at Melbourne or another club. I think he is quite happy with the MFC and its future direction. Decision will be made on where he wants to live.
  18. Got a sneaking suspicion that Jesse's management will make some sort of announcement about his intentions just after grand final.
  19. Think Weid can make it. His got the type of build which will allow him to put on some weight with another preseason. He moves well for a big bloke Hulett, having seen him play for Casey a number of times this year I've got my doubts. Don't think he has the size to back up in the ruck.
  20. Interesting segment in SEN going through every clubs national draft and rookie draft picks over the past four or five years. Bulldogs were the highest rated when it came to drafting. From memory they had a 54% success rate with pics. I think the next best was 39%.
