I'm really sick of being told how incredible Heeney is. Yeah, we all know, that's why in an open draft he was the best midfielder available.

Sydney, just the endless charity case of the AFL.

Adelaide still keeping it interesting, but I'd be very surprised if they could get it under 20 points for long. Sydney is just doing enough after that massive first 15 minutes.

There's that 20 point margin. Let's see how long the Crows can maintain this pressure on the Swans' lead.

Commentators just said Eddie Betts is the first small forward since Jeff Farmer in 2000 to get near 80 goals.

And there's that 20 point margin obliterated again in short order by the Swans.

11 seconds before halftime and he does his knee. Just terrible luck for a fella who's had his fair share already.

He?  Who?

It's amazing how close their numbers are at the moment.

Wiz: 249 games / 483 goals

Eddie: 253 games / 479 goals

Adelaide's season ended when they choked in Round 23 against West Coast. Went from two guaranteed home finals and the double chance to one home final and three road trips.

Four different preliminary finalists this year compared to last year. That's a good thing, no matter who the teams are.

Unfortunately, a Geelong-Sydney prelim means one of them will be in the GF and the risk of having 10 out of 12 premierships going to the same three clubs remains.

Easy to forget what a champion the Wiz was.

Was the greatest showman we've had in my lifetime. Brought people through the gates. So many big goal hauls. I Remember 10goals in 2nd half V collingwood. Great childhood memories

Another match with rampant throwing.

It boggles the mind how the umps dept can't work out that having been so red hot on calling frees for anything remotely resembling deliberate out of bounds, that the same approach would work for throwing. As in, if it's not absolutely a clear cut handball, call it as a throw. Then watch as throwing is eradicated in less than one round.

Why they decided they needed to crack down on this "scourge" of deliberate OOB when we routinely have throwing, short kicks, and holding off the ball on a weekly basis beats me.

It's a bloody sad state of affairs when I would actually rather [censored] GWS to win a premiership over either alternative (Geelong or Sydney).

I can't stomach either of these teams winning yet another bloody premiership.

I don't know any GWS supporters.
I know more than enough arrogant Geelong & Swans supporters.
Guess who I'll hear the most gloating from?

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
