Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I wonder if this might prompt a change of tact, and result in Prestias offer being taken off the table and Pick 6 being used at the draft where it should be

Surely they're not trying that on?

That's a parlour game for bored supporters in the off season.

Yes, they may have ballsed up their recruiting. But to suggest the above is a possible game day lineup ... tell 'em they're dreaming!

Every club can groan about "the ones that got away". (Except maybe GCS/GWS where they had a bigger net than everyone else.)

Is this an example of the constructive thinking that this new board is going to indulge in?

Might as well put on a hair shirt and whip yourself with thorns for all the good it does.

There is no backwards. There is only forwards.

Yeah, that our game!

Whatever happens, no way Hardwick is still coaching Richmond by the end of 2017.

Hardwick is just hanging tough for the fat payout for when he is eventally sacked. No value in resigning.  He knows that a coach with his record cannot last.

The administration is not lacking, it's a lack of decent players that's going to hold them back for years.

The administration is responsible for this too.

Brown-nosing the coach and Footy Dept didn't work too well for us either in 1982, 1983, 1996, 2001, 2003, 2010.

Just saw Dr Hiscock on The Couch and he sounded like some of the delusional flogs on here.

Remember the old cliche, footy is a great leveller.                               It has always been regarded as a virtue that people irrespective of their education or position can talk the same language, and I guess you may say, all sound like fools.

Hasn't spoken to Balme but Balme will go to Richmond because "he's a tiger at heart." If I were Balme and watched that or any other interviews with Hiscock, I would stay well clear.

Richmond have posted 11 straight years of operating profits, with a 500k profit in 2015 and 1.3m in 2014. Not only that, but they have over 23 million dollars of assets and are completely debt free.

Yet, they want to boot out this board who has delivered profits because they haven't won a flag? Brisbane will tell you that winning flags doesn't inflate the bottom line.....

Just like Brendan Gooddard walking into Essendrug...Bahahahaha

The one I've enjoyed this season is Daly Cherry-Evans in league. Signed a 4 year deal with Gold Coast, pulled the pin due to instability at Titans and resigned with Manly with a hefty pay rise after Foran left.

Manly struggled all season and Titans are in the finals haha.

It also highlights how quickly things change. From finals contender one year, when everyone was talking them up and the start of the season when Tigers supporters were again looking to the season with optimism and another finals appearance. They may have been overrated and the seeds of their demise may have been seen from their list, their coaches, whatever, but not many predicted such an implosion.

Its a lesson that tells us that success can sometimes be fleeting and footy supporters should not get ahead of themselves. The optimism at MFC will quickly be wiped if we have a poor year under Goodwin. Injuries, players not living up to expectations, can quickly destroy a season. And when that happens things turn pear shaped.

For all those getting a vicarious pleasure out of watching the Tigers problems, be careful what you wish for. And don't forget where Melbourne has come from. We are still a long way from getting out of the woods ourselves.

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
