As I said in the Trengove thread on the trading board, this is the right decision.  Deserves at least another year to have a fair crack at it.  If he makes it, then it's amazing.  If not then no harm is done.  Plus he continues to bring experience and leadership to the younger guys on the list as well.

His work ethic and positive attitude is a massive influence for the younger players to c.

Another great decision from the club. You can't endure his type of injuries and assess his value until he has a full pre season and a full season. He showed great signs this year.

This probably has signed Grimes papers and his last game at the club

Great news!

Smart decision to give him an opportunity to show his worth next year after a full preseason.

A lot of people mentioned Grimes and the death by a thousand cuts year he has had. But no one can say he wasn't given every chance.

Same will now apply to Trenners.

I am so glad you posted this, coz you have form, I am beginning to think you take the [censored] as much as I do.

Have you watched Trenners play at Casey this year, slowly he is getting back to where he was, he is starting to dominate games, a full preseason and who knows

HE IS SLOWWWW, the modern game has past him by!

What position will he play and whose spot will he take??

Eh?

It is the modern game professor, we NEED at least 30 players of AFL standard to be fit and firing at any one time, it puts pressure on the incumbents in the team to perform, cover injuries, prevent different looks to opposition teams etc, it is not about him taking a spot, he could play midfield or forward, FD obviously think he is worth it

I really can't believe it was 2009. I mean, I know it was, but seven years...it seems like yesterday that he was unveiled with Scully. Getting old.

I was just in nappies….I mean Depends.

When a player showed the early form he did, and is of such high calibre as a person, you'd wait for as long as you could before giving up.  I thought the club would give up, but I'm very pleased that it hasn't.

Everyone just ignore Picket please.  Unfortunately we live in a country where we grant anyone the right to an opinion, no matter how unsavoury or downright mean spirited it is.

You spent several years pushing the case for one of the most useless forwards we have ever had on our list, Juice Newton.  That says it all about your credibility.

Fabulous news , good to give him more time to prove himself with a full preseason .

he has been very good for the club, and having to play during are bad times.

People, if you see posts that upset you, use the "Report post" button that appears at the top of the posts.  Don't engage in an argument with the person about it, that is likely to end you up in hot water as well for topic derailment.  I'm getting very tired of continually having to clean these threads up to keep them readable, and bans are going to start being handed out.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
