So we let a guy who hasnt kicked a goal all year kick 2 in 2 minutes... this is so poor. I hate st kilda i hate the dome

Again, we just fail to cover the outside. When they get it on the outside, we just watch them go. Nobody downfield seems to be able to see them coming.

After all this time, we still haven't worked out how to play them. Every other f'ing side has, we haven't.

Dumb dumb dumb dumb footy.

Bet he doesn't!!

nothing for Roos to figure out. the players have to just f**kin pull their heads out of each other's a55es & play with a bit of urgency. 2 tackles inside forward 50 is unacceptable ... world beaters one quarter, hacks the next. it's just so frustrating.

Pathetic.

Over handballing dumb footballers who could not score in a brothel with some one guiding them in.

seriously super dumb, even in the first quarter we over handball end but their pressure wasn't good enough.

when these coaches watch the tapes do they not see that we over use the ball and tell the players?

are our coaches dumb? Or is it the players? Or are both dumb?

Sick of watching us over handball until we turn it over or hack a kick forward because we have ran ourselves into trouble.

Its so predictable that you can pretty much write the script before the game has even started.

Omce again we need a leader to stand up, rarely happens, let's see if it happens today.

Wow. That was the worst quarter of footy I've seen us play for a long time.

Ive defended our coaching staff but twice they kicked the ball to a player coming off the bench  at kick ins and got goals from it. That's Jnr footy stuff.

We really play dumb football.

The lack of front and square positioning at contested situations has cost as least four or five goals.

We're also committing a lot of extra numbers to the contest and leaving opponents free, which I thought we'd eradicated.

Just looking for the post from the last time we played. Something about Roo and McDonald and zones and hunt (Jetta) vs reiwold in marking contests and positioning at marking contests and zones and Riewold.

And McDonald.

Love it. Was wondering how long it would take you.

Actually, we just look like badly skilled, unaware footballers.

Skills go down when you're tired, as does running. Notice how it seems like there's always more Saints than Dees?

Here's the thing, the Saints best is six or more goals better than ours, but inconsistency has killed their season. They also know that if they go hard at us, we'll melt like butter, and either overuse the ball more, or just bang away, both behaviours that they set up for and then burn us with quick hands and speed. As much as I hate it, they're just that much better than us, with the added ability of being able to make us look like schoolchildren. Steven, Armitage, Riewoldt, Montagna are also all better than any of our best players.

Maybe he should call on Goodwin to take over now!

I was free and a wee bit tempted to attend - so glad I didn't.

If this club doesn't lobby hard for a bye following the Darwin game this will continue to happen.

It's irrelevant.

We simply cannot beat the saints. Simple as that. They are a better team all over the ground, have players who run into space and don't just jog around. The saints know that as soon as they put some pressure on we go to water and will smash us. Must be good going to a game knowing that there is no way can lose. This is how every saints supporter and player feels when they come to play us.

Absolutely pathetic again.

Bernie Vince bombs it into a 1 v 5 saints  guys inside 50 which goes down the other end for a goal. Wake up Bernie you idiot.

Tyson has done that with every disposal.

He's slow, sloppy and dumb.

Stupid because tired. It's not complicated.

Tell me Stu. Which Casey players would you bring in that would have made a difference in that quarter? Go on, name, say the top three that are tired and who you'd have instead.

I'd say that off the top of my head, I can think of three clangers for Harmes and Jetta each, in the first 15-20 minutes. That's not when you're tired and, if it is, then we've got bigger problems than shuffling a couple of blokes in from Casey.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
