Last week was an exciting game by and for Jack.  Great that he got to 100 games.

He is in no way responsible for our loss today; that was a real team effort.

But it was his last hoorah as a Demon.  Today he showed even his most ardent fans, why.

He had a few mates today too. It was 100% not JGs fault but if we want to be a good side i can't  see him being in it

I feel bloody horrible for this bloke.

I believe both he and Trenners are on borrowed time.

Those two boys would be more than entitled to leave the MFC with a very sour taste in their mouths.

But they are 2008 to 2013 personified. Blokes who are highly rated by the club but the truth is that their numbers just don't stack up.

Would we get anything at all for him trading? A 3rd round pick would be a great result if someone (Richmond?) would chop it.

Playing nippy teams like the saints shows he's just not up to it as a modern footballer. Slow, no weapons etc. Wouldn't get a game at most clubs so shouldn't be in our plans, as rough as it sounds. Play ANB instead, no idea why he hasn't been given a run

Of the backline, I was disappointed in White because he was given an opportunity and hardly had an effective stat. I was disappointed in Grimes for similar reasons. Oscar battled along but hardly had a positive impact. I am a Harmes fan but he ran us into trouble a little too much for my liking. Thinking about what else is available in the backline..... Hmmm.... Salem would be handy and Melksham has a spot in 2017, not to mention Hibberd!

It's sad what's happened to both he and Trengove.

Neither of them look up to snuff as AFL level footballers.

Which is why J Viney should not be made captain yet...

I have been to his defence this season, but that has to be one of the most disappointing performances for a 100th game in recent memory. I'm shattered for him.

I love Jack, and really hoped he could turn it around. That game was his last, he just couldn't rise to the occasion and it will cost him his spot.

This.

Just such a shame. But he's done. And I've been one of his staunchest defenders recently.

I don't like saying it, I love him, but he was terrible today.

Is it just me or is he physically underdeveloped for someone who's been in the system for 9 years now?

Every action and movement he makes seems so stiff and robotic.

He's like an awkward young ruckman, uncoordinated and looking like they'll trip over running laps... until finally about 3 years in they have found some touch and are much more comfortable with the movements and handling of the ball.
Somehow this level of comfort has never come to Grimes.
Plays like he's running on eggshells.

I think you'll find he won't get another game like yesterday.  Yesterday was his last game for our footy club.

Agreed. But go through this thread if you want a laugh and there's probably still people who need to watch him play another shocker to be convinced.

He's a free agent, for the millionth time.

I've been an unabashed fan, but today was it. Such a shame.

He failed to kill the ball too many times in defence, which led to at least two goals that I can think of. Just not strong or fast enough.

I have watched him closely in the past 2 games, for a small guy, he really has terrible agility and this often sees him out of position.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
