  1. Can’t share the enthusiasm here, ‘wins’ like this paper up cracks - we are a bloody ordinary footy team and more often than not have been for a few years - we should be better than what we are, but we need to see that we are not, it’s not about the opposition, it’s about us and how we play and make decisions on the ground. Our coaching has been sub-standard for awhile against the best and we never want to deal with the hard truth. Anyone looking objectively at our performances knows we are nowhere near another premiership - who amongst the current coaches will challenge the club with this view and cause change? Who will speak up against the mantra that we ‘are learning’, we still ‘don’t know what our best forward set up is’ etc etc - it’s always glass half full stuff from our coaches, particularly Goody - we are always ‘trying to get better’ … but unsurprisingly, never do… my main point is we haven’t learnt, or developed any further than where we were mid way through last year, if anything we are worse. This to me comes back to our coaching which I believe is sub-standard and complacent. Our ‘window’ is closing, I’ve been following he demons for 50 years and time goes quickly and I just feel we are missing a golden opportunity with some ‘lazy’ management
  2. What does it take to have a ruck on the goal line - it never happens and it’s bloody frustrating
  3. How is it we have two tall ruckmen on the ground yet whenever we have a clearing kick off the half back line we are consistently out marked on the half forward line - where is Grundy??
  4. Gee we are an ordinary team a lot of the time
  5. Some goal kicking practice required…..
  6. Kozi kicks some great goals - just wish someone would tell him to stop giving away silly free kicks (pushing players in the back when about to kick) and flying for impossible marks when better staying grounded
  7. Gee we have a lot of players playing selfish footy - very few looking to set someone up in a better position, our forwards key culprits
  8. As a team we are lazy - sit back and don’t get in to compete when the opposition serves it up, quick to run forward for the easy receive and possession, repeat of last half of 2022, just don’t want to do the work at the contest when it really counts
  9. Love Max, but gee he’s soft when targeted, doesn’t throw his weight around and cause fear, Grundy is worse, whenever we play Port Allih Allih always plays a dominant game and we can’t compete with his body work
  10. Trac always trying to play basketball not footy, endemic problem he’s never got out of his game
  11. The ability of Oliver to kick the ball to the opposition is unbelievable
  12. Attitude and performance of our midfield tonite is pathetic, we won’t do any better than last year and haven’t learnt much based on this performance - no commitment and desire to dig in when it gets tough
  13. Great win, don’t think much of Brisbane, but the way we played was good, a bit more variety in tactics
  14. Is Melbourne guilty of the same problem but we don’t want to admit it, particularly as a coaching group….we play one way and one way only and can’t, or won’t adjust when we need to We are known as a team that overuses the ball, is vulnerable to pressure and is heavily reliant on defence, particularly intercept marking, which when we come up against well coached and capable teams we eventually fall over - we have some very skilled players but our tactical planning and execution is letting us down
  15. Whatever happens in regards to trades, it’s clear from tonite and most of this year that as good as Jackson is and could be in the future, he is not dominant in the ruck, or as a forward or as a follower that warrants us going any harder than what we have - let him go and maximise the return while we can
  16. This is classic Melbourne that’s been going on forever - doing-saying/dumb [censored] that’s has no purpose and inevitably backfires on us - culturally we need to change it, Langdon is great, but should be dropped for discpline - we need to send a message to the team that ‘everything’ counts, nothing is excusable - just like Frisch should have been dropped weeks ago when he burnt players on the ground - that is being ‘ruthless’ not just one off performances
  17. Don’t care what anyone says, Hibberd is a dumb footballer
  18. How is it that cox always plays well against us…?
  19. Similar to game against Footscray so far, we continue a shoot out and it won’t work for us, need to tighten defense across all areas, particularly midfielders and forwards
  20. Good to see the renowned MFC ability to get ahead of ourselves now extends to daisy pearce, calls a goal before it happens ensuring we miss….
  21. Time to tell him we’re seeking a trade, he’s not worth it
  22. Every week that goes on tells me Jackson is not worth big money
  23. Goodwin needs to rethink coaching from boundary - either can’t see how the game is playing out and doesn’t react, or has no tactical nouse, or both !
