Justin Plapp just described Ben Ken's game as "massive" in an interview on Casey radio.

Fair enough.

IMO, Harmes' disposal has been atrocious whether wet or dry. It was no better vs Port last week in the sun than vs Hawthorn. He turns the ball over almost every time he touches it, at the moment.

Just out of interest by the way, Harmes had 4 clangers yesterday, so did Cyril Rioli and Luke Breust

Thanks all for the updates. Casey Twitter was off the mark today. It's great to see Wiedeman and Hulett getting amongst the goals but with Dawes and Pedersonhealthy it's hard to see them getting a gig.

Agree that Harmes is the most logical choice to come out for Kennedy. He's only 20 and looks like he could use a break from the 1s. Not sure why he's exempt form the resting policy. He's great at the contest and has quick feet but his decision making needs work. Great overhead mark too.

Can't see us dropping Garlett. He was really off the pace yesterday. I thought he would thrive in the wet but let's not overreact. He's still our best small forward.

If this is an attempt to say Harmes was as good yesterday as Rioli or Breust, this might be one of the worst posts on here.

Rioli and Breust aren't on our list so they won't be available for us next week. I thought that Harmes was a bit off yesterday and the previous week and perhaps needs a bit of time at Casey to reboot.

I'm a fan of Harmes but he looks like he needs to understand that his position in the side depends on how he plays.

White has had a good run of form recently, may be time for an upgrade if we have a spot available...

Do we have a spot available?

I'd like to see White at some point soon, maybe if Wagner or Hunt need a rest.

lol....  If you were the sole selector nobody would ever get dropped and we would run out on the field with 35 players each week

Ben Ken for Harmes is a no brainer.

Nah, Garlett is more likely to bounce back with a good game, Harmes has been average for a while, other than the three goals in the last vs Suns I think it was.

Collingwood fans hate Jeff Garlett because he always runs rings around them.

Its a no-brainer that he stays. I really can see Jeffy having a huge game next week against the Pies.

Grimes seemed to have played another consistent game.....bring him in for Hunt,Wagner or Harmes.

Jeffy has enough credits in the bank. Harmes doesn't. The only other change I'd like to perhaps see is Mitch White for Wagner, whose decision making still worries me. Yes, we can upgrade White.

Just out of interest they both did a hell of a lot more constructive things for their team than harmesy did for us, both with & without the ball in their hands, so their mistakes can be more readily forgiven as a result.

Jeffy had opportunities yesterday but he stuffed them up. He could have had his regulation 2 goals with a tad more poise. We don't drop a two goals per game forward on the back of one bad game! I'd bring in Kennedy for Harmes.

Dropping Garlett would be a ridiculous move. There's no other player on our list that can do what he usually does, and he's still one of the best small forwards in the competition. Kennedy in for Kent.

Needed to lift and we showed maturity this quarter.

They moved Michie into the middle in the last. Was a real arm wrestle until this move. His pass to Hullett (who was terrific today btw) in the last qtr was brilliant. Pedo in the last quarter was courageous. Really put his body on the line. Kennedy was awesome all day. White was good and Number 1 for Casey was terrific down back. Real old fashioned footy  and I thought pretty well umpired given the conditions. JKH looked like a player coming back from a layoff. Reckon Kennedy is a certain recall but no one else really stood out but the conditions made standing out very difficult. Cannot understand why they did not turn the lights on at the start. Could not see the other side of the ground in the last half of the 1st quarter. Kennedy has a natural advantage given his size and in my humble opinion would be an auto selection for days like yesterday. Bacon rolls were excellent today.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
