Neale bullen is nowhere near up to afl. Him and Newton are the typical Melbourne player. Look great in the 2's but can't step up. Unless hogan learns how to kick I don't care if we lose him.

Harsh on Neal Bullen.

Newton is a placeholder.

Whatever spin you put on it this is pathetic. Young, tired, out coached, lack of effort, Alice Springs...pathetic.

Hogan would be an elite if he could kick straight but his kicking is close to atrocious.

I felt like half our players didn't even try today. I think us supporters should feel let down. We know we wont make finals now.

Well done Max. Watts needs to be more consistent as does garlett. Kennedy and tyson absolute shockers. Not a few young players looked out of place.

I hope MFC pack in the NT games....we never win them its almost as bad as ETHIAD

Its official ten years without a finals berth

Okay we don't look like we will pull this out of the fire. And there is another one.

I actually don't think we are any better then last year, we have just had a good run.

We are yet to beat any in form team. Until we can beat top 8 teams we don't deserve to be in finals

The coaches and club should be called out on going to Alice Springs.  The Club for making the decision, the coaches for a game plan that has more holes than Swiss cheese.

As for players....they are likely to lose the next 5 games . Players should have been up for this one but now won't be singing the song for a while.

Good coaching is having a game plan that suits your team and gets the best out of them. We have a gameplay that whilst I think it is shithouse, requires us to run hard to defend. That run hard bit, making an effort and caring is something we never seem to do.

is the problem the coaching ? or the complete lack of effort ?

I hope we dont hear the players were tired today.

Newton. Done and dusted. Thanks for playing.

Yep. Shows our weakness. We need smooth outside player with good pace and footskills.

Instead we are playing Newton on the wing.

This team has no defensive structure whatsoever today. They are slicing through and going over the top over and over again. The tackling and skills are abysmal. Turnovers, dropped handballs, dropped marks even when there is no pressure on the receiver. Disgraceful.

Just too young, we can not cover when 8 or 9 are off the boil.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
