I was nervous as hell before bombers game, just had that feeling we would lose (put $20 on bombers to win it eased the pain a little), today I am as confident as I have ever been that we will win

Now I'm nervous.

They have 5 players that could hurt us - Hanley, Stef Martin, Rich, Robinson and Christensen.  Their team is atrocious.

After those 5 their next best players are probably Lewis Taylor and Daniel Merrett.   Taylor is a spud who only gets talked up cos he won the Rising Star award, and Merrett will have his hands full with Hogan and carrying the rest of the Lions backline.

What was that Phil Collins song 'I can feel it calling in the air tonight' (or in this case this morning?)
The noises coming out of the club are reasonable. Take the Lions lying down and we will suffer.
I have been here before and have been burnt.

Deep down something had me worried for the essendon game.. Today I'm as confident as can be.. Brisbanes side today is absolutely terrible.. 10 goal win is minimum.

If anyone is feeling nervous, I'd just like to add that I have seen 8 consecutive losses and I will be in attendance today.

Taking my 8 month old he has seen 1 consecutive win (GWS), I'm extremely confident we'll win and win big. I fully expect Merritt to elbow someone in the back of the head and Robinson to be bashed from pillar to post from siren to siren by Viney, Vince, Kennedy etc.

I expect the Lions to come out breathing fire in the first quarter.  Leppa will probably have them up and about and it wouldn't surprise me to see us take a little time to settle.  We just need to keep our focus, get first hands on the ball and make it count on the scoreboard.  If we can put a little distance between us then their heads will drop.

Everyone needs to do themselves a favour and settle down if they kick the first goal or stick with us early.  It happens.  I am confident we can see of an early challenge.

Looking for big Max to get on top of Stef Martin today and bounce back from last week, while I'm very interested to see how our back line goes after the scrutiny it came under last week.

Dees by 7 goals.

Watching the womans game. Ellie Blackburn is seriously all class, Aussie cricketer Jess Cameron already 3 snags and Melissa Hickey has bigger arms then Cale Morton.

This is fine but, historically, the problem with it is that we don't settle - we go into our shells and battle away for the next three quarters, terrified of losing.

Can almost guarantee that is how this game will play out.

I can guarantee that it won't.  I think we've matured more in this area and we understand what it takes to not only settle, but to put scoreboard pressure on as well.  The Lions are a shocking side and we just need to hold them at arms length early before we put them away.

When was the last time we won as favourites?? Seriously I can't remember, nearly all our wins for the past few years we are rank outsiders !

Last year against the Bears- remember that hideous game? Most have probably blocked it from their memory .

Let's hope so - there are certainly good signs generally.

It all depends on the start. If we get away, we get away, and have games like Collingwood to hang our hats on.

But if we get jumped early, we're much more likely to get locked in a close arm wrestle for the whole day.

Until we have more evidence that we've gotten over this pattern, I'll believe it when I see it.

Surprisingly our foot skills has been really impressive. Running for each other and really digging in to win the hard ball.

Don't mind it one bit!

We've shown we can rebound well after a loss so I think we'll be switched on for this game. We've also shown we can score heavily, combine the two and lookout!

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
