Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Not only does it give Essendon a leg up it gives the AFL a leg up.
Its in the AFLs best interest to have Essendon up and winning.
Gotta trigger those bonuses somehow.

Integrity?  Did I mention that?

The timeslots I was referring were not TV times it was the prime 2.10 start on a Sat afternoon (and Saturday afternoons in general)  which are highly attractive to football followers thus helping increase EFC membership and gate takings.  Also, have a look at the MCG games, their Home games there, who they play and at what time and you will see it undoubtedly helps their revenue via gate takings.  All these give Ess and extra leg up in my view.  Venue, time and opponents are all in AFL control.

I think you need to replace 'are all' with 'should be'.

Make no mistake, the channel 7 execs have more say over the timeslots than AFL house.

The AFL is not entirely drive by the popularity of a team in arguing with Channel 7 about timeslots. Otherwise I wouldn't be driven crazy by having to see GWS every bloody week in a region where there are more supporters of any team you can mention than there are GWS supporters.   But whether that policy would be extended to minor Vic clubs is another story.

Hird senior again Jimmy's mouthpiece. Now batting for Jobe's Brownlow. Not much else to add other than James is still looking for legal loopholes and now working in London as a business consultant. Why would anyone consult Jimmy about anything I wonder other than to make an idiot of ones self?

Every time these idiots pass comment, I wonder what drugs they might have just taken.

He asks what grounds do they have to remove the brownlow......  J.F.C, he was convicted of using performance enhancing drugs. Moron!

From the article " Watson faces the possibility of being stripped of his 2012 medal because he is serving an anti-doping suspension for allegedly being administered the banned drug thymosin beta 4 during the Bombers' injection program."

Surely the 'allegedly can be dropped now, or does that have to wait until the final appeal is heard?

"To be honest, I don't understand why Jobe doesn't demand that you charge him, and immediately set up a hearing which is open to the public. Allowing the CAS panel, which was incompetent at best, to make the decision for the AFL, is nothing but cowardly."

Does he not realise Jobe has been charged and found guilty?

Alan Hird is certainly not the brightest globe in the chandelier. .

This for instance:

"...  If you (McLachlan) had bothered to read the Court of Arbitration for Sport decision, you would know that not only was there no evidence to find Jobe and the other 33 players guilty, but WADA relied upon ASADA's misconduct/corruption to secure its guilty findings."

What a [censored].

Also interesting:  " ...James Hird, who failed in two court bids to have the joint AFL-ASADA investigation ruled unlawful, has been in London where he is working as a business consultant."

Tania and the kids  .. in London?

From that article "That is, there would be a mass exodus of Essendon players because of the circumstance they found themselves under. Certainly, unfairly, the pointy end of a tragic breakdown in trust between club leaders, staff and the players. Who would blame them at the time? They have always had the right to leave. Fortunately, the ‘three C’s have returned to the Essendon Culture. Confidence, Care and Compassion. Players are free to make their choice. Bit by bit they return. Well done to the Club on providing the environment where players are ‘falling back in love ‘with their footy club. "

Seems they aren't too great at counting out at Tullamarine!

Bit of a nothing article really.

I can think of another 'C' that springs to mind when thinking of Essendon.

Is there no public enquiry into Worsfold's appointment? Nothing Melbourne has done EVER compares to the AFL and Essendon's attitude for the sanctity of The Code.

Is Textor a business consultant in London or is he out here bailing out the boat in Canberra?

It seems she was nailed by her (deliberate?) concealment:  "If she had not concealed her use of Mildronate from the anti-doping authorities, members of her own support team and the doctors whom she consulted, but had sought advice, then the contravention would have been avoided," it (the report) said.

That is the same hook that hung the EFC players:  concealment from drug testers, doctors, managers etc. and didn't seek advice (from anti doping authority).

Its simple:  Athlete responsible!!

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
