He wasn't exactly tearing it up at Casey during his last season so you wouldn't think the Bummers would be expecting much. Back up I suppose and probably some mentoring/coaching.

As much as I wish Jamar well, I'd be much happier if no ex-MFC player helped Essendon out of their self-dug hole. Wil be hard to watch especially when they play us.

Can confirmed Russian was down at Essendon today wearing their uniform. Will be one of their top ups.

I wouldn't be troubled about the Russian. I am more worried that the AFL website is suggesting Daniel Cross as one of Essendon's "top-up" players. This cosy top-up arrangement is going to impact on every Club to their detriment in addition to the damage caused by the banned players at other Clubs.

I thought that Daniel Cross had some sort of contractural arrangement with MFC / Casey.   Still, contracts, AFL and integrity seem to be all mutually exclusive.

Why?    They will have get their top up players from somewhere.    Another year of an AFL wage beats the hell out of wages in the minor league.

    Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded.     Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was.
