He is doing it with her because it will full easy questions.

Last time Whateley interviewed Hird, Tanya took notes, the main one underlined was "Don't let Whateley interview James, he asks "inappropriate" questions and has unbiased knowledge on the subject"

can't see tracey doing her reputation any good by this endeavour. she is too conflicted. surprised abc management ok'ed it

Mmmm, I don't think she cares given what I have heard her say in the past on this issue. Her journalistic reputation will be shattered by this but she appears to care not. James has her under his spell - akin to Abbott under Credlin's spell. Totally against any rationality, unless other things are afoot.

Still we can only expect both will be condemned by their own utterings so and by the subsequent reaction, as Hird was after the Wheatley interview.

http://tv.press.abc.net.au/james-hird-exclusive-interview-live-on-abc-news-24-this-sunday

In the spirit of round by round match previews & reviews I thought it worth starting a seperate topic on the interview due to be shown on ABC24 this Sunday. No matter your thoughts on Hird and the EFC to me the interview is a must watch if only to see how delusional the participants really are...

Hird - "And when the truth comes out, I think I'll be in a very, very good position, and so will this football club."

Holmes - "I've always tried to stand back from the hubris, the emotion, the allegations that are not founded on fact."

According to many and I must admit that I'm leaning this way, Holmes is a Hird sympathiser. I'm not sure how she arrived at this position but am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and see how she stands up and is able to get to the truth, whatever that is.

It will be interesting to get opinions on how 'Demonlanders' think the interview will go, why the connection between Hird and Holmes and following the interview, did it shed any light on the situation, did the truth come out?

I think this article will give you an insight on how close you'll get to the facts.

Tracy should ask Sir James what he's going to do now they've put up all those protective barriers on the West Gate Bridge.

Of all the media flunkies who have followed or commented on the Essendon disaster, Madame "Fake tan" Holmes would rate as the premier sycophant in the James Hird three ring circus. As such she is the last person who should be interviewing someone like Hird on such a serious subject as sportspeople on performance enhancing regimes.

And that WJ is the very reason Hird agreed.

Here are Tracey's actual words from one her many Hird hagiographies (including free ASADA bashing) articles for the ABC. This was in response to Hird's sacking.

Yesterday, Essendon's favourite son agreed to fall on the sword he'd held aloft for the past two-and-a-half years trying to keep at bay those who accused the club - and specifically Hird - of running a secretive, illegal doping program. And they were many.

While Hird stood at the gate with his self-described "belligerent personality" and was one who "never backs down", the club's players and fans knew he was their spine. Players felt protected, fans were protective and the club hoped for the best.

The siren has sounded on Hird, and all that's left is sadness

Good God she is as bad as Rohan Conolly!

Did anybody else hear Stephen J Peake & Geoff Poulter on SEN last night?

Incredible radio...Both were adamant that the AFL should leave the WADA Code and Police themselves..."That we do not need an International Panel to dictate our game"...Blah Blah etc

Peake is a lawyer on a par with Soul Goodman...i have seen him staggering around South Melbourne

Pathetic St.Kilda tragic... The Hird IV on sunday will be along the same lines.

As an ABC employee i find the whole thing disgraceful as Gerard Whately and Tim Lane would both be far more qualified to chair a discussion with the Golden Psychopath...

So where is our special friend Lance Uppercut?

Do the Bomber Supporters who read the Demonland Threads still think we have no clues as to what went on in Essendon?

Questions I would like answered are:

- so what did the players take.

- why do you not have records on what they did take

- Why was dr reid kept in the dark about the program.

- Why has Danks not come forward to testify on your behalf if nothing is wrong, why has he not produced the records if he does not want to testify

- why have you not tried to force him to provide the documentation on the program.

- How could you sanction a treatment when you did not even have a clue about what the players were given.

- How could the club spend $700k without any for or accountability or governance program in place to monitor safety and its effectiveness.

- if you don't know what they were given how can you say they were not given prohibited substances.

- You mentioned early on you would accept responsibility, just what did you accept responsibility for.

- Do you believe your self righteous crusade has helped or harmed the players

- The Essendon football club is likely to be sued for $60m+ by 30+ players for lost earnings, shortened careers, pain and suffering.who at the club should bear responsibility for this situation.

Just have to wait to see how many of these are answered.

None it will all be settled out of court and only the AFL will know as they no doubt will pay the bill.

Should we pass the hat around Demonland to see if we can help the Drug Lords out in a time of need?

Hird would never put himself in a 'live' position that would generate hard questions. What happens is really up to Holmes but I'd suggest she is comfortable with her existence and position in the journalistic world and is evidently a Hird groupie based on the her defence of him in regard to an Age editorial and her mantra that she deals in facts. Facts are hard to establish when the truth is deliberately hidden and that is what convicted Hird and his players.

IMHO if the ABC were fair dinkum they'd have Gerard Whateley doing this interview, not a lightweight. Therefore I won't waste my time watching it.

Yes I was stupid enough to turn on SEN this afternoon to listen to the Jade Rawlings interview and was unfortunate to have to listen to 20 mins of Connolly before he came on. Connolly is just appalling. Has no knowledge, insights or commonsense. If anything, worse than Robbo and that is saying something. At least Robbo has a sense of humour (sort of). How do these journalists get jobs, let alone be taken as "experts".

Ruined my afternoon!

Don't forget the Herald Sun's EXCLUSIVE two-part interview with the Golden Boy himself, conducted by none other than the journalistic master of integrity, Mark "Slobbo" Robinson.

Perhaps they will explain why no leaks occurred from the WADA/CAS hearing; the one Hird and Essendon were excluded from.

    MORE FIERCE by Meggs

We’re back!  Winning the last three matches has recaptured our Demon spirit and, with superstar players returning from rehab, our Season 2024 dreams are not over yet.   So come along 5.05 pm Saturday afternoon to watch this Round 9 ladder-defining match at the Field of Dreams. Expect the Tigers to be fierce, but surely the Demons will be more fierce. Playing conditions are expected to be a dry 15 degrees with a typically gusty Cranbourne wind. The media opprobrium of the ill-consi

    IN FRONT by Meggs

In this must-win clash between Melbourne 11th on the ladder and St Kilda 8th, it was the Demons who were in front all day to win in a hard-fought Round 8 clash to make it three in a row to keep theit slim finals chances alive. A good crowd of enthusiastic footy families for week 2 of Pride Round had gathered.  The full pews in the well-appointed RSEA Park grandstand provided excellent viewing.   The Saints won the toss and elected to kick to the southern end favoured by a strong 2-3 g

    THE TRADING CHRONICLES 02

Part 2: Watching grass grow by Whispering Jack Critics of test cricket (and I’m not one of them) will often claim the sport is excruciatingly boring: that following a five day match is much like watching grass grow. However, the longest form of that game has nothing on the first week of the AFL trade period when it comes to inducing sleep among those in the football public who follows this process in its somnolent moments. The week gone by has been no exception. Only two player trades

    THE CAVALRY ARRIVES by Meggs

The injury plague which has beset the Demons 2024 campaign is finally starting to dissipate and with consecutive wins over GWS Giants and a 2-point nail-biter in Adelade, a sense of optimism is rising.  Some commentators are now asking whether the Dees can make finals? A huge surprise with team selection this week when it was announced that champs Olivia Purcell, Paxy Paxman and Eden Zanker would play.   Hallelujah!  The cavalry has arrived. GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised
