I don't like 4.40 Sunday games, mainly as I don't like getting home late for dinner before getting up for work the next day. I must admit, though, I do like the "red ball" games, ie those that start early enough not to have the lights on. Call me old-fashioned, but there is something about a sunny afternoon at the MCG that I much prefer to the night-time version. I always enjoy the QB game, but it would be that little bit better starting at 2.30 or so and not having any lights involved.

I find 1:10 is the best time slot.

You're not waiting half the day for the game to start and you can be home well and truly before dinner

Sunday twilight is the worst when you have two young kids at home - not home in time to help out with getting them ready for bed/dinner etc and then have to work the next day as well. I'll generally watch these ones on TV, as far as I'm concerned the AFL is scheduling these games for TV audiences so they then can't complain that people opt to watch them on TV rather than go to the game. Especially outdoors in the middle of winter in front of a generally small crowd.

If we hadn't lost to Essendon and St Kilda, we may have been a chance, but even if we thrash Collingwood, I cannot see us getting to 40K this year, especially as we are halfway through the season!

"As a privilege of your 2016 membership package, you are entitled to one  free ticket to our game in WA. In addition, you may also purchase tickets for guests to attend the match and sit amongst other MFC supporters."

Interstate members get 1 game per season to attend (outside of Vic) and this is the seating you get offered - Melbourne vs West Coast

And to take the missus along as a non-member you get slugged $67.50 to sit up the very back and have the setting sun make the game almost unwatchable.

Ripped off.

Id be very surprised if we get terribly many more..

I mean, why would you if you already haven't

Like all things you come from your base.  Some more success this year and some good signings  in off season and some solid outings in the pres eason will see us to 40 and over next year. Like the team..a work in progress

Sounds like a good idea but she'd probably want me to come with her.

there would still be interest for 3-game memberships. there are 4 home mcg games to go (and 1 replacement home game round 22 v carlton)

No, but I understand that the outlaws motorcycle gangs will provide you with all the ice you need, unfortunately, not the type you can ski on.

We got tickets for the Bellerive Oval game and I reckon NM stitched up the MFC as our tickets were designated David Boon Stand, yet we were seated in front of the hill. We were just fortunate that the state was still in drought at that stage.

I think that before the season kicked off most of us would have been hoping to break the record and only just, so the fact that we are so close to the magical 40K is a bonus... but who knows, a good win in such a high profile game as Monday's coupled with the Big Freeze event, may see a sudden spike in memberships that are both performance and sentimentally based.

Spend your money on a counter lunch and a bottle of red. That's what I do every time we are not playing at the "G"!

67 bucks seems like a lot for a relatively crap seat.
