Ok so there's no official trade rumour here. Closest thing to it is a mention of him in Collingwood's section of this article - http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-07-15/whos-on-the-outer

But wondering what people thoughts are of Ben Kennedy. 21 year old (22 by start of 2016 season) midfield/forward with explosive pace who could really help with our outside run & carry.

Was very highly rated in his draft year, however with Collingwood's plethora of small midfeild/forwards Elliott, Blair, Fasolo, Varcoe has found it difficult to break into the side after having managed 20 games in his first two seasons. His stoppage work is pretty strong also.

He's a Glenelg boy, so although a few years older, he may know or have some association with the likes of Stretch & Neal-Bullen already. We may be able to get involved in the Aish trade to get him over the line.

Dawes to Brisbane

Aish to Collingwood

Kennedy to Melbounre

And a swap around of picks to see Melbourne & Brisbane improve their position and Collingwood drop down?

Kennedy is a gun, every time I've seen him play for collingwood I've been impressed, and a mate of mine who plays in collingwoods vfl team says at any other team he would be playing regularly and killing it

Unless we have a replacement line up we aren't trading Dawes. I don't care what people say - he is the perfect foil for Hogan at the minute. He provides experience and enough ability to take some of the pressure off Hogan. If we were to trade him and not have someone decent to fill his role then it's easy for teams to double team Hogan on a regular basis and we shoot ourselves in the foot.

The hypothetical trade you mentioned above might work, but we would need to put in a different player. Right now I'd rather trade Howe than Dawes as he is far more replaceable.

"Official" trade rumours!

And no, horrible idea.

Ben Kennedy will not help us more than Dawes.

Title of the forum is The Taylor Made Trade and Draft Board nowhere does it say official.

And then in my opening sentence I mention there's no official trade rumour.

Might want to work on your reading....

As for Dawes, I agree with Wiseblood that another player would need to be lined up to play Dawes role. We just need someone who has an ability to also play in the ruck, as Dawes is no good there. Whether that's somone like Josh Walker or Sam Grimley I don't know. But IMO playing Hogan, Dawes and another tall who can play forward/ruck leaves us a bit to top heavy.

It's a fair point mate. Three talls in the modern game is a little top heavy. Someone like Watts playing that third tall role is a better option, and then having Hogan and Dawes/someone else as the second tall works a little better.

I can't see the club trading him this year though unless we have a very handy replacement lined up, and as far as I can tell there isn't someone better than Dawes on the market at the minute.

Not sure on Kennedy as we need height in our midfield. As for Dawes he can't go quick enough..

Pedo is a much more consistent player with better hands, perfect to attract other backman away from hoges!!

Kennedy would be a good get. Has speed and creativity which we lack. Despite not getting a whole lot of game time, is rated at Collingwood.

Missed weeks with illness earlier this year (glandular fever?) which knocked him about and partially explains his absence from AFL.

Kennedy is bog ordinary

well having a BOG would be good for us :-)

no more filth hand-me-downs

Haha, I'm hoping he could be more Peter Moore and less Lumumba & Chris Dawes.

Too small, not blistering, burns the footy. I think we have reasonably half forward options how it is and I don't see him as a wingman and certainly not a half back. He'd be better depth than not having any but isn't what we need.

Kennedy is small, gets pushed off the ball easily and lacks composure the same way Toumpas does at AFL level. No for me, unless he comes dirt cheap.

Not sure about Kennedy. There are worse options out there....but also better ones.

That's it then, we go for him, or we don't.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
