Once again not a single Demon player has made the 40 man All Australian Squad.

No Vince makes this squad a joke.

Selectors are (as far as I can work out) Gillon McLachlan (chairman), Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Mark Evans,Danny Frawley, Glen Jakovich, Cameron Ling and Mark Ricciuto.

Darcy is a disrespectful [censored] who has it in for our club, the others seem OK.

Yes but we are one of six Clubs to not have a single player (and during the year we still beat the Western Bulldogs who have five players)!

You can't tell me Lachie Neale has had a better year than Bernie. I've watched plenty of Freo as well. Joke

Shame, but look across the squad and who would you leave out..?

Dane swan comes to mind, has been good but Vince has been better.

Unfortunately while Bernie had a lot of very good patches, he went missing for 3-4 games a time, two or three times. His last four or five games, he was pretty much unsighted except for the last round.

Unsurprising.

Nathan Jones was far more deserving last year than Vince was this year.

That said, Heath Shaw? Over Tom McDonald?

Wow.

Disagree except for the last 4 weeks or so, this is about the whole year though, not just one lean patch. I think the last few weeks would have taken him out of the team but not the squad!

Rory Laird???? Who the hell is that? Swan, Ibbo also lame selections.

Swanny also had a few games where he did SFA.

Swan out, Vince in.

Rory has had a good year but Shaun Burgoyne has done nothing. He is there on reputation alone. Averaging 9 kicks and 10 HBs. Pathetic.

Michael hurley. FMD what a joke

TBH I have taken no notice of the AA since they refused to include Adem Yze years ago. Claimed that a player had to put in a number of years of solid performances to get in the team. Farkoff, 2001 Yze average 22.2 disposals, 4.8 marks and 1goal 1bh.

Edit: put in link

SIX clubs got none

ONE club got one

so i don't think we were singled out. it is just pretty skewed to 11 clubs

TMac was in AA until Cloke decided to put in a big one on QB, after that it took him about 8 weeks before he showed anywhere near his capabilities.

Vince I would've thought he'd get in the squad, he's had a sensational year. But not a huge surprise given our year.

Shaun Burgoyne for a start... How he is in the squad I do not know. Armitage & Vince the most unlucky

Heath Shaw has been excellent this year, will get in the team.

Surprised Armitage and Vince didn't make the squad.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
