Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Watching the replay is reminding me of how terrible the umpires were.Surely we had to be the most persecuted team this year.

Stats for Free's this year. We're ninth for frees for and eighth for frees against.

Note the Eagles: Least frees against, 5th in frees for. Geez they get a nice ride.

Watching the replay on FOX with a huge smile.

Salem is n absolute beast. Him Viney and Brayshaw hurting blokes is gonna make me cry.

Salem's tackle on Cameron early was fantastic. Set the tone for him for the rest of the match.

I know I'll be howled down but apart from that horrible dropped mark and 1 poor hand pass I thought Grimes was effective and deserved his place in the side.

What game were you watching? Besides from his goal (which he should have marked anyway), he was hopeless. I seriously don't know what some people watch.

here's where stats really confuse me

viney gets 29 disposals and a whopping 12 tackles bursts into and thru packs yet is credited with ZERO 1%ers

If he continues this form into next year, Viney'll be A grade. Had a fantastic back end of the season when a lot around him were ordinary.

There was a moment in the second or fourth quarter, where he turned into the corridor, as that's where a lot of his options were. He then turned back towards the boundary and kicked to a one-on-one that a Melbourne bloke was never going to win, but just needed to kill over the line for the reset. I was really impressed with the maturity shown here. Good signs.

Well, it was Wallace umpiring, so figures. He's hopeless.

I don't want to single out individual umpires but Wallace should never officiate again at this level. Send him to the north east. Maybe Tangambalanga is far enough away from civilisation

I could say the same about you but I won't. Just beg to differ.

Watching Cross being driven off in a stretcher and then waving to the crowd brings a tear to my eye.

Well done to the supporters who started the Crossy chant.. was spine tingling.

I struggled not to cry. It was awful. So glad he came back for a much deserved farewell.

Come on Django get with it. I always wear an open denim shirt with jeans and a wide brimmed hat in Fitzroy when I am out and about, I just don't look quite as good as Christian what with my gut hanging out over my jeans. But I can still knock back a frothy!

He is slow and doesn't know how to find enough of the ball. He also struggles to find space. Will be lucky to be on our list after next year I would say

Contracted till 2017.

WE WON AT ETIHAD!!!

This - along with winning at Geelong and unearthing the next champion of the game, winning at Docklands is one of the big positives out of the year. Some will say hoodoos are [censored] and to an extent I agree but just to have people stop talking about is a massive positive and one less distraction/excise for the players. Cross mentioned it in his post match so obviously it's something the players are aware of/talk about.

Watching the replay before, Jonesy also mentioned it in his post-match interview with Mooney.

EDIT. The hoodoo, that is.

I didn't cry but was chocked up, was so good to see all our supporters cheering for him as if he has been playing with us for a decade...it speaks so highly of him.

Where are those posters who practically tore up their memberships in a hissy fit over the last month or so and swore to never buy one again and give up on the club? Amazing what a win can do to close off the year.

Loved the input by some of our young brigade today. Bring in an A grade mid and a few more from the draft or free agency and things are looking much better for the future.

7 wins is a good result, sure it could have been better if we beat the teams we should have, such as Carlton, Essendon and St K x 2. Win those and a couple more and we are on the verge of finals next year. Roos is dead right, improve our worst footy, close the gap, become consistent and we are on the way to success. I'm genuinely excited about 2016.

Was fantastic.

One of my proudest moments of a supporter in many years was cheering Crossy today and giving him a standing ovation. I hope he felt the love the fans have for him.

Just watching Cross getting knocked out on the replay, the arcitect of Etihad didn't really think of what happens to players heads that hit a Footy ground built on top of a carpark.

You mean like most major grounds, including the MCG?

FMD there is plenty of dirt between the grass and the car park. The architect had nothing to do Cross getting knocked out.

Shocking crowd but it was a strong contingency.

If it were at the MCG, 15000-20000 easy. Poor scheduling by the league. Maybe they'll get it through their heads that if they're going to give Melbourne a home game there, do it against another Melbourne team.

The 9k crowd , largely confined to ground level , comprised our most fanatical fans and their vocal support reached manic proportions . I had to brush away a tear on the 3/4 time siren following Hulk's twisting mark and goal . The emotion in the air screamed HOPE !

I don't think the carpark at the G is below the playing surface. From the times I've been down there it's below the stands isn't it? Either way, I agree it's probably irrelevant to him getting knocked out but Etihad, especially in seasons past has had a lot of issues due to the ground being very firm. Although today it looked in really nice condition and better than the MCG is at the moment.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
