Mitch White to debut

I'm thrilled at this. The kid has earned a game with his form at Casey. He's also exactly the sort of player we need. Roos was lamenting the lack of a quick skillful HB flank to generate rebounding attack, and here we have one who looks like he might make the grade. He has all the tools, we just have to hope that he develops them to the level needed to do the job in a side that's pushing fro finals.

Not as excited as me!

Ok I have rated this bloke for a long while

Without wishing to put the mozz on

1 He has a cool head

2 Silky smooth left footer

3 Plays taller than is

4 Shows no fear

5 Has run and carry

6 Reads play exceptionally well

7 Loves sneaking forward to snare a goal!

Start salivating!

Picket I hope that after Sunday I feel the same way!

Wait a minute , Bobby!

I'm pretty sure Stuart was a right footer!

Long, raking drop kicks...and stab passes...yes! But not out of the backline..... wasn't he a rover/forward?

He also was able to take a hanger... I think he took the first hanger I ever saw.

I'm trying to think of a Demon left footer with long, raking kicks from the backline . Matthew Febey? Surely there are others! Help!!

I am fairly sure he was a left footer but you have now got me thinking Jack. He was a rover /forward teaming up with Ian Ridley to form a deadly roving combination. Maybe Old Dee

or someone else can clarify which foot Stuart used to kick. Maybe poster Stuey would know or Whispering Jack. Let us know guys!!!

In fact I haven't been this excited since I saw Jane Bunn last night doing the weather report in that beautiful Pink dress!

If he's a spud I'm blaming you.

I'm looking forward to his debut by the way.

NEWS FLASH! I can now reveal that White's recruitment was part of a far-sighted, cunning plan by the MFC to finally destroy the Etihad Hoodoo. Last time we won a game at that ground, we had a White in the team (Jeff). With Mitch making his appearance on Sunday, the Mighty Dees will sweep to victory, all due to the presence of our Great White Hope...!

he was a left footer for sure

Thanks for that Daisycutter. I watched Stuey play every week for five seasons and I was sure he was a left footer. Oh, to see those long, driving kicks up into our forward line with big Bob Johnson ready to grab and goal. 'Those were the days my friend we thought would never end'. That's how the song goes I think. Sadly they did end.

Perfect game to make his debut in. He can get a taste of what AFL is like and then put in a big pre-season to see if he can either get himself on to the main list in November or put himself in a position to elevated again if we get a long term injury.

I'm not expecting much, but it would be excellent to see him and Salem kicking a few left foot bullets out of defence on Sunday.

Thoughts?

I thought he was very impressive. It's refreshing to see an uncomplicated footballer who can both find the footy and use it well.

It's only one game but I'd much prefer to see White on the senior list in 2016 than M.Jones, Bail and Terlich (all of them have contracts). None of them have ever shown the ability to do what White did today.

I told you it would work! LOL

(And, Whitey did some nice things, too!)

Neat kick, mainly used it safely, loved that mark going back with the flight, handball wasn't so great but we all want to see more attacking footy, so that's the price. Decent one on one.

Didn't look to be moving too well when he came off so clearly the challenge will be for him to have a big pre-season.

Overall I think he'll need to improve his speed to either be a one-on-one small defender or take more intercept marks to be an efficient rebounder but the tools are there. He missed a lot of preseason as well so you'd think there's a lot of room for improvement.

Do Bail and M.Jones really have contracts next year?

I'm astonished how Terlich got given a 2 year deal last year when he only played a handful of games and then looked no where getting a game this year.

If all 3 are contracted we're going to have to pay them out, they cannot be on our list next year... what a waste of money thats going to be.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
