Watched the replay last night.

The bit that shat me was when he made a pretend apology to a theoretical someone who was watching their first game of Aussie Rules (the [censored] called it AFL but I'll let that go, almost), and said words to the effect of "it isn't always this bad".

This was after we had pressured GWS all the way from forward 50 to our defensive 50 to finally force a turnover and ran, hand passed and kicked the ball forward and scored a goal! It was terrific, modern football - all team defence and quick counter attack to score and he is apologising to someone in his imagination!

Brad Johnson and Lynch both had the decency to praise our pressure, but Der-wayne wanted it his way. A total creep.

PS: any chance he is reading this thread?

How about someone emails it to wherever the hell he is employed so he could feel the vibe.

I heard that too.

I remember thinking, 'really? I've seen far far worse than that'.

Now if he'd said it at pretty much any point in the Dees v Lions game, that would have been accurate and appropriate.

just watched the smart replay on afl

can't believe how pizz poor the commentary is. like a group of drunks at the pub trying to impress each other and be blokey

i hope they get get a big revamp for next year because that was just below par

oh yeah and dwayne was the worst

Are we just ignoring the bit where Sandy Roberts called Brayshaw 'Monfries'?

he looks more like Rod Carter.

Anyone ever notice he has a tilt?

or the bit where Sandy called Kennedy Harris ' Garlett.' What a buffoon!

I used to enjoy Sandy's commentary about 15 years ago. He's so far past it now. It says a lot footy commentators and FOX FOOTY that they actually went back to him. He didnt have a job for years. Should have stayed that way.

Sandy is great compared to Derwayne and Brooooce!

Yeah Sandy's not that bad.

Did mix up Garlett and JKH which was poor but at least he tries to describe the game as opposed to the pub banter and irrelevant stuff Derwayne offers.

It would be easier if you just mute fox footy and listen to Grandstand but Fox has a one of two second delay on my box.

Maybe they know their commentators are the pits..?

Might be worth trying digital radio because that is a couple of seconds behind am or fm transmission. (haven't got Fox so never tried it myself).

Sandy's the footy commentary equivalent of your senile grandfather - a shadow of the great man he was. But you know what he used to be, and that he can't help it, so you turn a blind eye when you catch him urinating in the bathtub because he is confused about where he is.

Derwayne is your douchebag uncle, who gets shitfaced, bullies all the kids and pinches all the girls butts, then wonders why they stop coming to his BBQs. He's always been a jerk and you'll never offer him any benefit of the doubt.

Your family sounds like a real hoot DA!

Haha!

Wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't in the bath at the time, Nash.

Fantastic analogy.

And yeah, Sandy's insistence on pronouncing it "Toump-ass" is just weird. I'm not sure why he keeps doing it.

Probably something that should be left alone regardless.

If Sandy got the names right he'd be one of the best.

He calls the game and doesn't continually make sweeping statements about the players and their careers to date.

Just call the game and tell me what is happening now, not in the past or what you think will happen in the future because you will be wrong anyway.

He is at us again.

Even when we have a good moment he brings us down. This time he is putting a dampener on Jesse Hogan winning the Rising Star.

He suggests that we will continue to be poor on field and 9000 attendance at home games is standard. He believes that we are not worthy of Hogan.

He really has it in for us.

Fortunately, no one appears to take his views seriously. I'm struggling to recall when someone else I the media felt the need to respond to anything he's said or written. If you can recall something let me know.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
