Nearly everyone accepts he was rated a top 3 draft pick, let alone pick 4, so it's just one of those things.

I'd get rid of him now while he might have some value.

Keep turning the list over.

I think the kid can play - his problem is he is completely an outside player

If we do trade him I wouldn't be that upset, we need competitors and if he has value I'd say trade away

I would try get an upgrade on our second rounder. How we tried with Trengove last year. Turn pick 25 into pick 18 or something

Posted (edited)

they were pick 11 and 12 that's obviously not the same as the top 5 is it

pedantic contrarian

Cale Morton, many had him top 3, others not even top 10. TGR was loud before draft on how a team from out West wouldn't have touched him.

So high pick now is only a top 5...

That ain't gonna do his inability to hit a target by hand or foot any favours...

Morton showed far, far more than Toumpas in his first three years.

We've dangled him as trade bait for two years in a row and got nothing cos he's worth nothing.

A bigger bust than Morton or Gysberts, and only just ahead of Cook and Molan.

Just not sure Toumpas has any real trade value.

I am not sure either, nor is anyone posting here, really.

Only time will tell.

I wouldn't just get rid of this kid just to get a space on the list. There is plenty of those. I think they will have erred if they do a 'Morton' in this instance and just trade for a low value pick...

Those that suggest Toumoas has no or little trade value then must ask why ?

Those that say he is potential unrealised must accept another club might think this also.

The MFC is in all likelihood fielding any interest.

I would be too.

And other clubs are looking for value - I would prefer not to give it to them.

Oh TGR said that did he, I'm sorry my mistake, that changes everything, you're right every player we picked was an outright gamble

don't talk to me

Might get Moore and a late pick for him from Port or one of the SA clubs could on-trade something to Brisbane or Gold Coast in our bid to get Redden or Bennell?

If we were getting Moore for Toumpas, I'd be keeping Toumpas. The perfect outcome is packaging Toumpas with a pick or another player for Bennell or Prestia or someone like Hartlett.

Hartlett has just been resigned! He isn't going anywhere!

Never claimed every player was an outright gamble, just that your hyperbole is BS

Every player you pick is a gamble it's a lottery, looking at hawthorns greatest team in the last 3 decades in the sun the other day made me want to spew there numbers come up

The Hawks stuffed up a lot of high picks in the 2000's though. It's their later picks that have helped them- Bruest, Smith, Puopolo, Suckling were all mid to late picks.

I think we are on the right track in that area- Stretch, VandenBerg, Harmes, O Mac, Nel-Bullen have all shown promise as late picks.

We just need to make sure we nail our first round picks from here on.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
